Prayers for a WLS patient
O.K., I'm really not one to ask for prayers, but I've a former co-worker *****ally needs them. Linda is a cancer survivor who was deathly afraid of WLS, but has needed it for many years. Her husband had it a couple of years ago, and went through some major complications the first 18 months. But after talking to me, she decided to go on and pursue it. Anyway, they went in for WLS Thursday A.M. and found a grapefruit size tumor behind her intestines. They didn't even biopsy it b/c they were afraid of causing it to spread more. They just closed her up. She goes back to her oncologist Tuesday to resume chemo or whatever.
She was so excited about starting a new life after retiring from teaching last July and surviving cancer the year before that. She and her husband have so many plans to travel and really start enjoying their lives together once her weight would allow them to.
Linda still has the best outlook. She feels that the WLS, even though it didn't happen, has saved her life. It never showed up on any of the routine cancer screenings she's had, or on any of her pre-op work ups. They're hoping to get it before it spreads.
Prayers for Linda would be greatly appreciated. This just goes to show how much luck really does play such a part in our successes. And how different success can be for each one of us. We all have our struggles and the way we choose to address them will determine our fates. Thanks for listening, guys. This is really hard for me.
