WE GOT THE LOAN!!!!!!

WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!! We got the loan!!! I GET TO HAVE MY PLASTICS DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited (couldn't tell could ya?)!! Talk about cutting it close! I have to have a cashier's check to the plastic surgeon on WEDNESDAY and the loan officer finally called TODAY! Oh God, I hope they disburse the check in time for me to take it to my appointment! I don't want to lose my surgery date - April 28th!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Round one: Arms, boobs Round two: Next year (lower body - i hope!) Pam 250/132/125??

That's awesome Pam! I am so happy for you! So tell me, when you apply for a loan for plastics, do you tell them that is what it is for? Or just say medical needs?

Well, if you do one of those plastic surgery loans, they have to know EXACTLY what it is for and the rates are VERY high...like 24% And the payments are SKY HIGH....so we didn't do that. We were going to refinance the house, but the rates have gone up and we would have to pay $8000. in points and fees to do it AND have a higher rate for 30 years. So we didn't do that either. Then we looked at a personal loan. i saved up to pay off the existing personal loan we had and we were going to just take that loan out all over again. But the rate on a personal loan was higher than a home equity loan with a shorter repayment term - SO we did a home equity loan (with no points/fees) and pay out the same amount of money each month for bills as we did before. We can deduct the interest we pay at tax time AND since my breast surgery is considered "reconstructive," I can claim that as a medical expense on my taxes too. I get my PS, hubby gets his bobcat. Everyone is happy! Hugs, Pam

That is what I thought about doing, was a home equity loan, when the time comes. I'm a bill collector, and we refer people all the time for this and they say it really helps them in the end (by consolidating their bills). I have a ways to go, but it's good to have the info. Thanks, cuz I sure didn't know that about a plastic surgery loan. Good luck again!
