PS Residency Programs

Check out this link for info on residency programs that offer PS at much more affordable rates. I think it's something you'd have to feel really comfortable with the surgeon to do, but it's a possible option for the $$$ quandary! Kristie

Could you provide more information or a more specific link. How did you hear about the residency programs... How would the operation cost any less? Not arguing here, so please don't feel I am playing devil's advocate... Just curious because in an operation, the surgeon's fee is only a small part of the overall costs. I would imagine even if you cut the physicians fee in half, you would only save about 700 or 1200 dollars.... that's a lot, but you get my meaning. How do we find these residents? Thanks.

The info is on PSJourneys.com. It's a site about overseas PS and also has a thread regarding the residency programs. If you go to the link above you can find out some of the programs. I know all of Louisiana's programs aren't listed because they've been moved (UNO, Tulane, etc.) I haven't really looked into anything yet. I just thought it was interesting because I'd never have thought of it. I know many of you are ready NOW, though, so I wanted to put the word out there. I found the PSJourneys.com site from the Obesityhelp PS section. Let us know what you find out! Kristie
