WOW found great calcium citrate chews!
Well I have always heard on this site
that WLS patients dont absorb the calcium
carbonate and was takeing mostly that per
my surgeon.
HOWEVER, last night i found CITRACEL chocolate
fudge chews that are the calcium citrate.
I bought them.
THEY are great.
I am going to take both calciums now to be
sure i get what i should.
I just had to share with everyone that
now there are chewable that taste like
a treat!

Hi Lisa!
I bought those and thought they were so gross! My friend liked them so I gave them to her! I take the citracal petites, smaller and easier to swallow. That's so funny how we each take to different things!
I'm a nurse and want to give you a bit of advice on the calcium. Do not take more than 600 mg at one time, it's all your body can absorb at once, anything more and you are just wasting money. Also do not take it with a multivite that has iron in it, your body can't absorb both at the same time so it chooses one or the other, it's called competing for absorption. Try and stay within the recommended allowance for calcium, you do not want to take too much and end up kidney stones in a few years!
Good luck!

100 pounds lost, 15 to go
Hi Lisa,
I checked it out. Unfortunately I cannot take them because of their sugar. I am super sensitive to sugar and even the smallest amounts cause me to dump. They also have a lot calories in them for me. Considering that we need 1200 mg a day. I use BariatricAdvantage Calcium Citrate lozenges. I love them. I don't chew them, but suck on them, and they are like a treat. I take 3 of them (600 mg) twice a day. They come in mint, chocolate and my favorite Cinnamon.
Whatever you do, don't take them with your vits with iron. I space mine 4 hours after my vit.
Have a great one my friend.
