Renee' I do take a B-12 shot every month. I go to my doc office and get weighed in and at that time I get my shot along with my iron, calcium, and multi-vitamin pills. I see my doctor once every six months more if I have problems (which thank God I have not had any!****ep track of my official loss that way and I just love it. So far I am down 97 lbs since surgery; 118 from my highest. Hope this helps. Laural

Renee', I'm not sure why some of us take B-12 shots versus the pill. I just the the iron, B-12, multi-vitamin, and calcium pills. My blood work has been great! I guess the B-12 pill isn't enough for some of us. Becky/lap rny/6-22/05 291/192/155

Renee', I get the B12 injection monthly from my PCP. After 3 weeks, I take the OTC sublignal (sp) B12 that I get from Walmart for the last week before I get my injection. This helps keep my energy up. My doctor said that if I get too much B12 my body just gets rid of it through urine. My GB surgeon has seen me 2 weeks post-op, 3 months post op and 6 months post op. He wants me back at 12 months post op. I believe that after that, I see him every year for a check-up. ~Take care and God Bless~ Abigail

Hi Renee', I take a sublingual (under the tongue) pill twice a week and my B12 levels are excellent. I have never had the injections. I see my doc every 6 months, at this point. Hope this helps. Joy

I dont add any B to my diet yet. I figure if it showed up in my blood work then i would add. I have tons of energy and feel fine. I have seen my doctor 2 weeks post op, 1 month, 3 month , 6 month and i will go at 10 months next month. SO far all shows up well lisa

Hi Renee, I take the B-12 sublingual daily, along with 3 multivitamins and 2-3 calcium. By the way, if you need calcium, Citracal just came out with these creamy bites...tastes like cake batter. They come in caramel, choc., choc mint, and lemon. Yummy! Calcium citrate, too, as opposed to my Viactiv's that I've been taking. You can get them at Target. Energy comes and goes. I've been playing lots of racquetball and walking. I saw my surgeon at 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, and will see him at 1 year. So far so good...down 121 lbs., 31 to his goal, 61 to my goal. Hope this helps, Kerri

Hi Renee, I don't do the shot but take a 2500 mcg B12 every other day. I don't see my GB surgeon until 1 year out (June of course) but have been seeing his nurse every 3 months. Hope this helps!! Thanks for your nice message! Hugs, Jo

Hi Renee' I take 1000 mcg of B-12 daily...it is a sublingual little pill that you put under your tongue until it disolves. I get them at GNC. I also take a multi-vitamin and 1500mg of calcium (chewables). I have a lot more energy than I did 131 pounds ago that's for sure!!! I see the surgeon every 6 months, so the next time I see him I will be a year out. My labs have been good so far. Leslie
