What size are your meals?
Hi again guys!
I am wondering, what size are your meals now? I can eat about 3/4 to 1 cup of food now, and be comfortably full. This leads me to stop my 6 meals a day, that is for sure! It is a hard habit to break though. I am trying to make those other 3 meals be snacks instead, and consist of yogurt or fruits/veggies or pickles.
Just wondering what your meal size is, and how often you eat.
Thanks for the help guys!!

I will have to try a Lean Cuisine meal, I hear often about people saying they can eat one, but I haven't tried one yet. I will have to try it. I am glad that other Junebugs are seeming to eat about the same amount as me, though. Sometimes I feel like my pouch is broken because I feel like I can eat so much, but maybe that is because I got so used to only eating a few tablespoons and getting overly full in the beggining. Last night I grilled shrimp skewers for dinner and I ate 23 shrimp and 2 bites of grilled veggies!! The shrimp were medium-small sized, but still!! Wow. At least I got protein in??

I've always eaten 3 meals a day and two snacks. My meals are about 3/4 of a cup sometimes more depending on the what I'm eating and snacks are a can of SF high protein pudding or some veggies or cottage cheese. My toughest time is after work (if I don't go to the gym). I get so hungry and eat a large snack and then can't eat dinner.

Chip, my toughest time is in the evening too. (I am assuming you work days?) I tend to get bored and I just want to eat and eat. It is so hard sometimes. I try to just drin****d tea or crystal lite in that case but sometimes I mess up a lot, like eat dinner twice or eat chips or crackers before bed. It seems like I am only satisfied after eating for about 2 hours.

Hi Tiffany. I eat 3 meals a day. This is what my surgeon told me to do. He wanted me to stay away from planned snacks as in his opinion, that leads to grazing. At first I couldn't understand it, but now I do.
I generally eat either 1/2 cup of protein, cottage cheese or beans. If it is solid protein, chicken, beef, whatever I can get in 3-4 ounces easily. Plus I always have a vegetable or salad. For breakfast, I usually have a low fat cheese that has 9 grams of protein per slice and have two slices with a rice cake topped with roasted red peppers. Rarely eat bread, rice or pasta.
Sunday breakfasts usually consist of a quality cereal with the lowest sugar and carbs available with half a cup skim milk and fresh fruit - strawberries or blueberries (I don't weigh or measure them). If no fresh fruit is available, I'll have either raisins or dried cranberries in my cereal.
I've lost 158 pounds in the past 9 months. I think it is working for me. Everyone is different though. I haven't had any problems with solid protein, meat, chicken, turkey, pork or soy products.
Have a good day!
Lucy
Hi Tiffany
I am so glad you asked this question- I am about 10 lbs from my goal and feel like some days I overdue it- I try to stick with 3 meals and always protein 1st-i eat 3-4 oz of protein- sometimes more if it is soft- like cottage cheese
Slowly bad carbs have been calling my name and some days I do give it- bad girl- It is a struggle but I am glad we are all in it together
