Another trip to the doc...

I freaked out the other night because my tongue was covered in a thick coating.... It looked brown at first (but i just drank coffee) - I srubbed the heck out of it... to the point of drawing blood. It remained there - but WHITE and all the way from the tip of my tongue to as far back as i could see. GROSS! I went to the doc yesterday and he said I have thrush. I have never seen an adult with thrush mouth. I don't even know how it happened or why. I asked him if this was common after gastric bypass or from a low carb diet?? He said it was more likely because of my Vit D and B12 being low....somehow this makes the body more susceptible. Another reason to TAKE THOSE VITAMINS!! He also said, that if it doesn't go away after 14 days of treatment, I have to go to a specialist. That's the SECOND time in one week that I have been threatened with a specialist. I'm NOT liking that! So now, I'm taking 50,000 iu of Vit D per day, 5 of these antifungal nasty disolve on my tongue tablets, B12 sublingual, 2 multivitamins, and 4 calciums + D per day!!! JEEZ!! I have NOOOOOOOO appetite. Here I am feeling better than i have in my whole life. I've even been going to the gym like a good girl. Doing the eliptical...treadmill, weights, and KICKBOXING - yet - there's all these hidden mysterious things that i can't feel popping up. It's pretty scarey. **** TAKE THOSE VITAMINS!!!!********* Pam

OH PAM ((((BIG)))))) hugs! SORRY to hear of this. I really dont no anything about thrush, but sorry you have this now and more to take now. ILL keep you in my prayers for good health. I so far have been very good about my vitamin taking and this is more reason to keep it up. SORRY your going thru this but its nice to hear your feeling so well! Ohh the dreades specialist threat. LOL Look on the brightside... i will be taking so many vitamins and have no appetite so you may loose even more weight? trying to find a bright side

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles....I never thought adults got thrush but the last few years eveytime my mom gets sick and has to take an antibiotic for something she ends up with thrush. And she's never had WLS...She's also otherwise healthy. It can get VERY painful so make sure you do what the DR says. Thanks for reminding us about taking those vits! I'm good at taking them in the AM but by the end of the day I seem to forget about my PM vits....A LOT. Feel better soon!! ~Issy 360/229/175

Girl u better take care of your self. I stll say your doc should have u on the tricicon(sp?) that I take. Is your iron still low too??? call your sis with these things I dont like finding this like this on here and not know about it...Shame Shame on you for not telling your sissy

Sorry Sis! Please don't beat me!! I'll be okay. I was just really down in the dumps Friday over it. Then Saturday, I said to myself "Self, you aren't gonna sit around and have a pity party over this - you feel good - get out there and LIVE" So I went to kickboxing...washed my car....cleaned it inside and out... went to Target... Took Jon Boy for his haircut... went to Starbucks... then Bradley started running a fever - so I had to shift my focus onto him. Sunday, I went through my closet and the storage containers of clothes. I boxed up some to mail, set some aside for you, and set some aside for the support group. Worked my tail off!! My closet has an echo now! Today, Brittany and Bradley were running high fevers, so i took the day off. Cleaned Bradley's room (threw out old toys & clothes) - that boys room is CLEAN... then I did the kitchen....then I did the computer desk... then I did the rest of my room...went through mail and trashed it...took Bradley to the doctor... got his precriptions... came back home and cooked Jambalaya for the potluck at work tomorrow... and BLAM.. I'm finally sitting down! Something tells me i won't be able to move tomorrow!! Love ya!! Pam

Wow you got alot done. want to come over and clean out my closet...lol I hope brit and brad are feeling better. I know I unloaded the truck tuesday and then put out some freight and when I got home I felt like my pants were really tight so I took them off and looked in the mirror and I swear to you I looked like I was four months prego. I have a bad cold too and yesterday My head hurt so bad I thought my left eye was going to burst I was in bed early and slept til 11am today. I still feel like total crap. I was supposed to go to VA for a manager meeting today...well as you can see I didnt go.
