Today I reached my goal! I weighted in today and weighed 130 lbs. I have lost a total of 190 pounds since my journey started! I also have had a couple of tests run to figure out why I have such a hard time eating. First was a hydrogen breath test. That showed that I have way too much bad bacteria in my intestinal tract. Second, I had a EDG which showed I have an ulcer in my small intestines near my pouch. That could be caused by the bad bacteria. They did an biopsy and will soon find out. The antibiodic that was given to me makes me very sick so I won't take it any more. I told the doctor (not my surgeon) that it was making me very sick....stomach cramps, diarreah, and loss of appetite....she said she never had any one else tell her that and never did anything else about it! She gave me a presciption for Prilosec for the ulcer....it is time released which I was told is not affective after RNY because of malabsoption issues.....I am beginning to wonder if she knows what she is doing! I will call my surgeon's office tomorrow and get some answers. He will be on top of this for me! I am just glad that they were able to find out what was wrong. I was beginning to think they thought I needed a shrink! Sue 320...............GOAL 130!!!!!!!!!

WOWIE ZOWIE!!!! That is AWESOME!!! 190 pounds!! GOAL!!! Congratulations!! I'm sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. My doc presribes prevacid solutabs for ulcers/acid. It is a small tablet that dissolves on your tongue.... It actually tastes pretty good too. You might want to ask the doc to give you this instead of the prilosec pills. I hope everything comes back A-okay and you are on the road to a FAST recovery! Pam

Pam, Thanks! I feel fine...other than the food issues! I did contact my surgeon's office and they said that the prilosec is okay. They said that all that type of meds are all time released and my body would use what it could. BYW.....you are looking fantastic! I will have to have my husband get some pictures to send for my profile. No one recognizes me anymore! Sue

Wow Sue! I am very proud of you, you have accomplished something great, losing those 190 lbs!! How long did it take you to lose all of it? Sorry to hear that you have an ulcer, hopefully your doc will find a different antibiotic for you?

Tiffany, I lost 70 pounds prior to WLS and the remainder 120 since June 1st! So all in all it took me about about 1 1/2 years. I did take to heart the 6 month suppervised diet that I had to go on in order to get approved for insurance. I will call my dr. tomorrow and get a new antibiotic....I hope. Sue

Lisa, Thanks so much! You are doing great too! I agree we do need to keep in touch with our surgeon's. He was the one that contacted the digestive disease dr. to get my presciption. He is the greatest! Sue

Wow, you symptoms sure sound like what my daughter just went thru. I dont really know the medical term, but they call it Beaver Fever. You get it from contaminated water. My daughter was shocked to hear that, since for the most part she drinks bottled water, but the antiobiotic they gave her got rid of it. You have done awesome and should be so proud of yourself. I cant wait to get to my goal which is about 27 lbs away. I might have to go out and celebrate that day.. I hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Congratulations Sue!! You and Mary Jo are are hope for reaching goal too!!! Good luck with figuring out the problems and wow, I am impressed with how quickly you did this. I am sure it has to do, partly with not being able to eat comfortably. Now that you are at goal, they can figure things out for you so you can stabalize. I can't wait to get where you are. I have 27 lb. to goal and I don't expect to be there until around August, which is just fine. WAY TO GO GIRL!!!! Jo
