Hi June bugs, I seem to be catching the flu very easy because of the sudden temp changes here is CA. I had the flu for 2 weeks, well for 1 week feeling great and back in bed sick the 3rd week (running out of sick time at work). I am taking all of my vits/protien/water on a daily basis plus I also take extra vita C, zinc, echinacea, and Cold-eeze to try and get well. I have tried taking benadryl and sudafed but they hurt my tummy so bad and I endup exchanging my flu symptoms for a stomach ache, cramps and diahrea. I guess what my question is WHAT THE HELL is wrong with me, I cant seem to get well?...also what do you guys take over the counter that does not upset your new tummy and works?

Tina, Try taking an over the counter Pepcid with the sudafed. I have stomach trouble if I don't take this daily. It may help. And if thay does not work the nasal sprays really work well. Usually cold and flu is not from the outside weather, I know this is debatable, however maybe carry around some of the hand sanitizer in your purse and use it all of the time you cannot wash your hands. Also a vaporizor or humidifier in your room at night will help relieve some of the chest and congestion discomfort. Wendy

Thats right I remember a doctor perscribing me flonase a while back I will try that again and the hand sanitizer as you both suggested. Vicks vapor rub sounds good too... Thank you for your help! Tina

SORRY to hear your not well! THE FLU stinks! MAYBE next season consider the flu shot. I run a family daycare and the kids have been sick as a dog and im fine. I do disinfect plenty, use hand sanitizers and wash frequently and havent had anything bad! SORRY you have it so bad. I too firmly believe we get sick from germs not cold weather! but if your comeing down with something the cold will proly worsen you a bit.... GOOD LUCK getting better soon love lisa

I normally do get the flu shot but not this year I actually missed the free flu shot day at work...maybe that may have something to do with it. I am going to call my Doc and see if it is not too late in the season to get one. You know how it is when you are just sick of being sick. I will definetly try the hand sanitizer, my mom is always telling me the same thing too... Thank you so much for the advise! Tina

Hi Tina, Who knew that you were right down the fwy from me??? I know that I was out of school a week with issues from sinuses. The fire here last week plus that winds have kicked up everyone's allergies. I get shots and take Flonase along with liquid Clarinex. It took me over 9 days to try and kick it. It could be that the air is more the problem than the flu. Email me if you'd ever like to get together- we are so close in proximity. Take care, Kerri
