The seven month blues

I don't know about everyone else but i find myself off course a lot. Either i don't eat enough or I don't eat the right thing lately. For example, today i had 2oz oatmeal for breakfast at 8am, 1 cup of coffee at 10am, 1 cup green tea at 1pm,3 cups of cheese popcorn at 3pm, 1 protein shake at 5pm and 1 graham cracker at 7pm, 30 oz of water all day. (I am working on the water thing) i haven't been keeping up with my calories, protein or water intake. I basically do what i want but I am going to be taking this a little more seriously. I think i got a little too comfortable loosing weight so casually. Now the weight has slowed tremendously. From June 22,2005 to december 22,2005. I lost 87 pounds then from January to now i have only lost 6 pounds. I did notice however that last week when i drank more water and more protein and exercised i did loose 3 of those pounds so i guess it essentially up to me. I was reading some seven month posts and felt good to see that i wasn't the only one having the blues. Though i am very hopeful that month 8 will be a success. i will try to drink at least 60 oz of water, 80 grams of protein and exercise 3-4 times a week for the next month to see if i see a difference. Well, good luck to everyone out there i just wanted to lash out for a minute. Back to work.....

I love pretzels myself. Thank God I am only able to eat a few of them though. But how refreshing. I am trying the revival shakes now and they are quite delicious so I think I will do well with those. Best of luck to you I know we have sunny days ahead.

Lawanda, I am with Lisa, I find I can eat more and get hungry now so this is when it becomes a real struggle to change our old habbits and make new ones, ones that are more healthy for us so we can keep this new lifestyle for the rest of our lives....HARD to do!!!! I am really into reading books to help now and would like to start to see someone but money is so tight right now that I just have to hold in there for a bit. Lets hope the best of us ALL.... ~Hugs~ Debra P

i noticed the same thing. i am spoiled because i have not really had to work at losing wieght since my surgery. i miss those days of the weight just falling off every day. i had a 3lb loss this past month and i am happy with it. i got some hints of breaking the lags in weight loss from some other posts. they all say the same thing... increase protein at least 3 oz 5 times per fay for ten days. drink at least 2 qts of water and take in 45-60 grams of protein and take in all of your vit supplements. also try to exercise 30 mins per day for 10 days. they say it breaks the plat. good luck.

For some reason my responses don't seem to make it back to you. I just want you to know that I have been trying to respond to you. I think that the protein and water idea rocks. If this is what helped our ancester post-ops then it obviously works. Like the saying goes...If it aint broke don't fix it. If this reply doesn't post I will send another.

I will be glad when I reach 100lbs. I am at 94lbs was hoping to be 100lbs lighter by my 8th month post op which is in 7 days. I am going to do my best to meet that goal. That would really make my day. Then I will need to loose 40lbs to reach my goal. My ideal weight is 137lbs and I am determined to more than meet that goal. So good luck to us both.

I find the same thing. It has been so easy that now i have to pay attention and work at it. My body has been funny... one day i have to force myself to eat. The next day i want to eat everything. I find myself with the grasing problem especially if there is emotional stuff going on. My goal now is to up my water and protein and start excersizing. I have lost 110 so far and havn't really excersized at all. So now i figure the plateu i have been waiting for to excersize is here. No more excuses. I tried on an outfit today and it was an 18/20. It felt so good that it excited me again about the weight loss. So hopefully i will remember that feeling. Paula

I think we get very spoiled in the beginning. Typically since before the surgery I exercised my butt off only to loose a pound here or there. Then to see pounds shedding with no effort I must admit it made me very lazy. But all good things must come to an end. On a brighter note we still have our tool so at least we want be eating like before. I say we will be laughing about all this a year from now when we are all at our desired weight. We are going to make post-ops for June 2005 look absolutely fabulous. If I find something else that works I will let you guys know. Meanwhile, I am staying on the water, protein and exercise kick you can't go wrong with that.
