Kristin, I would lie if I said I never do but I really try to not drink anything after I eat for at least 30 mins. It helps keep the food and the feeling of being full with you longer and does not wash your pouch out! Sometimes I get so thirsty after I eat (more at dinner) and I end up drinking about 15-20 mins after. I do however drink up until 10 mins before and sometimes right before, it helps me to get full faster now that I can eat more but if you are not getting your protein in then that is not a good idea. I don't know about slowing your weight loss down but if you are washing your good out and feeling hungry sooner that can not be good right? I am curious as well......thanks for posting this! Take care Debra P

I can drink up to 10 minutes before I eat but if I don't wait until at least 45 minutes after eating I feel horrible pressure so I don't even try it now. Chip

NOPE, wont do it. ITS a rule of the pouch laid out by my surgeon that i adhere to 100 percent. I am told it pushes are food thru so much faster causeing us to be hungry too soon. GOOD LUCK, your young and surrounded by young people...you dont want to blow your HONEYMOON time of looseing so please be careful and try to follow any rules your surgeon laid out for you for the best results. GOOD LUCK! lisa

If I'm at a restaurant and it takes too long to get the order, I do drink. Otherwise, I stick to the rules. In fact, last night, we had chicken stew for dinner, and I started wondering how that works with all that liquid in it. Anyone know? Becky lap rny/6-22-05 281/193/155
