Hello All I am just curious how many carbs do you stay below a day? I was working with 40 grams a day but I am not sure if that is right. Please let me know your carb count. ~hugs~ Thanks Debra P

HI DEBRA.... I do keep under 50 carbs a day max. most days i average under 30~ I know that to many carbs trigger cravings and more eating. TO little carbs gives brain fog! SO go figure!~ lisa

Hi Debra! My surgeon/nutritionist told me to get in no less than 120 grams of carbs per day. I don't really watch them though. I was curious to see how many I was getting in so I input everything into fitday and it is only about 70 g/day. I am thinking I should cut it down though since my weight loss has SLOWWWWWED wayyyyyy down. Tiffany 247/151/125

Tiffany, WOW that is a lot of grams... I think my weight loss would STOP if I was taking in that much. I try to work with the 40 but I love to snack on fresh fruit and it can get high in the carbs though they are good ones. We just do the best we can do.... Thanks hun Debra P

HEY DEBRA! I use alot of the rules on carbs i learned when doing very strict atkins. I think when your getting carbs from the fruit is fine. PEOPLE dont get fat on fruit and those are not the carbs that trigger more cravings and endless eating.... so i wouldnt worry to much. ITS the carbs from the bread, rice (unless whole grain), potatoes, pasta and cakes, cookies and things of that nature we have to be careful of. WHEN you get carbs in the fruit and even your veggies there good carbs! So dont obsess, i think your doing a fabulous job looseing and our bodies are just catching up again! THE fact is were looseing slower now, but were still looseing! KEEP thinking the entire picture and as long as your meals arent a hand full of cookies...your doing f fine. I know you dont do that but some doo. IF we do what were doing we will continue to loose and even slow looseing its comeing off! I get down too and start thinking when its going slo but i think were doing well and have to look at the enitre losses not just the dailey picture! ITS hard for all of us. I know its hard were all going thru a slo down phase. LISA

Hi Debra, My support group leader says to keep it under 75 g. I don't usually count them right now because I know that it's waaaay under that. I do, however, endulge in some sugar free candy. I have started to lose again after about a 3 week stall- I had lost 3 lbs. in 3 weeks, but still 10 lbs. for the month. I have made a concerted effort to eat more this last week and, as a reult (I think), I started losing about a lb. per day again. It's not that I wasn't eating, I think I just wasn't eating enough, although I always made sure to get my protein in. The other factor is that I'm still at 224, much further away from my goal than someon who is at 150-160. Therefore I will probably continue to lose a little more quickly, I hope, than those who only have 20 lbs. left. I'm still waiting for that glory day when I break into Onederland with so many of you guys. Have a great day all- I'm home sick! Ughhh!!! Kerri

Kerri, That is great hun and congrats on moving from your stall. I try to eat more but it seems to add to many carbs I really have to add more and maybe that will helps me as well..... Thanks for your input Debra P

I don't count my carbs, but just try to avoid the things my doctor told me to stay away from: bread, rice, pasta, sugar and potatoes. I haven't been perfect --I've had some of these. but in small quantities. I have found that if I don't eat carbs before I go on my hour-long bike ride on hills, I will run out of gas. Now I either go after lunch or eat some dried dates (no sugar added) before I hit the trail. I have a no-carb breakfast (super duper protein shake) because I found if I put off my protein until later in the day, it's impossible for me to get it down. Kim SW 306 CW 179 GW 150
