Hi Kassandra!! You have done wonderfully and the only way you are done is if you eat more calories than you can burn Most of us don't eat that many calories! But, we do slow down and have plateaus. That is normal. So, follow your pouch rules and you will continue to loose my friend. In fact, people in my support groups who are further out kind of laugh at themselves for panicking and thinking they might be done. So, you can do it!!! Jo

I am having the same problems right about now. I think we have finally hit the plateua we have been worried about all these months. Our bodies have been through quite a lot and they have some catching up and normalizing to do. Try not to weight yourself daily. go to every week or every other week. That way we dont' stress about it so much. Just make good choices and watch your water intake and your excersizing and everything will work out in the end. It is the patience to get to the end that is the hard part. Good luck and know i am in the same boat. Paula

Hi Kassandra, Have you measured? I have been stuck between 164-166 since the 12th of December! But..my sister and I measured yesterday and I've lost inches. I have to agree with the other girls....I think this is the plateau that we all thought was at 4 months! Lets just keep following the rules. It's not over yet. You've done great. Keep it up. All the best, Debra

Hi Kassandra! I am just a little over 7 mos. out & I'm at the same point that you are! I've been at the same weight (plus or minus 2 pounds) since Christmas and have also been concerned. However, this is probably normal from what I am reading. I've done really well... I'm a little over 100 pds. lost from surgery and haven't really had a "plateau" until now (I don't measure, so it may not even be a true plateau!). I know that it is a little scary, though... but, I think that our bodies just need a little readjustment time. Plus, I was walking before Winter set in and haven't been able to get myself back to a routine since. I, too, just had a large cyst removed, so am hoping to get myself motivated & back to the YMCA after my stitches are removed and the doc gives me the big O.K. Just think, though.... when was the last time that you didn't gain at least 20 or so pounds during the Winter??? I know that it wasn't at all uncommon for me to gain up to 50 or 60 pounds through a Winter... so, staying put or at best, slowing down on my weight loss won't be too bad. I know that once the weather gets better and I get off my butt, things will start moving again. (My biggest "sin" is having discovered sugar-free Russell Stover's Dark chocolate! - I really need to learn to stay away from these empty calories.) I wish you well.... keep your spirits up! If we beat ourselves up about things, we may return to self-defeating eating patterns (and goodness knows, I can't afford to do that!) May God bless and help us through this journey. Karen

Hi Debra - this is Debra from Phoenix, AZ - we have the same surgery date - how neat is that? Nice to meet someone else who shares my same 're-birthday'.

Kassandra, My surgery was the very same day as your surgery. We share our re-birth day! I have probably only lost 2 pounds since my 6 month post-op which was on December 19th. I keep weighing in at 159.5 to 162. I started my journey weighing 244. So I have lost 82-84.5 pounds. I so want to hit my goal weight which is 138 pounds. I am about 5 6 1/2 inches tall. My fiancee thinks I look good where I am at right now. He thinks that if I lose anymore weight I will be too thin. He thinks 138 is not realistic for me. I would be happy to lose another 15-20 pounds. I think this would be good. However, at this rate I am worried that I will go into my 9 month post-op appt weiging the same! AHHHH! What will the doctor say then?
