I am in a size 8! Single Digit Sizes! Thank you! Thank you!
Ladies,
I went shopping on my lunch hour today--a favorite past time of mine now. I like to just go in to a store and try on sizes to see what size I am in and how close I am to the other size.
Today, I tried on a size 8 and it fit! I wanted to cry! I sent the clerk back out to get me a size 6. I told her that I have been losing weight recently and I just wanted to see how far away I might be from a size 6.
I told her that I wanted her to be honest. I put on the size 6 and they were not too bad---they almost fit! She told me another 10 pounds and I will be in a size 6 jeans!
I am so amazed at this! Can this be possible? I am 5 6 1/2. Today I weighed in at 161. I had been at 159.5. I actually gained a little weight, but yet I am going down another size. Is this crazy or what? How can this be? I am 23 pounds from my goal weight! My goal is 138. I am thinking about shooting for 132 now!
I still struggle with setting a goal weight. Is there anyone that is close to my height out there? If so, what goal weight have you set for yourself. How will you know when you are where you truly want to be?
I thought I would be happy at a size 10. Now I see that I can be even smaller, and I am thinking that I should set a different goal weight and size. Any thoughts Ladies?
Congratulations :^)
I know how you feel...Love the shopping thing more than ever now...On the goal...My doctor and Nut put a goal weight for me - it is 138, same as you...I'm 5'4"...I want a personal goal of 125 in case I have a little bounce back when I go to a maintenance plan, we'll see if it's realistic...
Best Wishes...
I agree with you and the 2nd post indicating they wanted a lower goal for bounce back safety.
I am disappointed in my weight loss as I thought I would lose faster than I have... Quite frankly I began to eat during Oct. Nov. Dec. and it slowed my weight loss... but I am on target as far as the Obesityhelp.com postop planner indicates.
Anyway, yes, I want to be in a size 6 ... not forever, but for about 5 years. I think my body enjoys a size 8-10 depending on stuff...
But now, I am a firm size 12 most of the time, depending on maker.
If I had plastic surgery I am certain I could fit nicely into a size 8... My waist is too large. I float in the 12 other than around my waist... Looks kinda weird... Large fat deposits around the stomach are not healthy either...
I should weight approx. 120 according to Metro-Life body type charts... but Obesityhelp.com suggests my 5'4" frame be in the 130 range....
I didn't spend all this cash on a self pay surgery to be "moderately" successful.
and I stay hungry with 1,000 + caloires intake (it is all in the mind, I only wi**** didn't matter to my mind!)
First, CONGRATULATIONS,
Now, what a lot of quiet people may be thinking...
Oh PUHLEEEASE.... you people losing so much weight so quickly is depressing those of us trying to catch up to ya
I know you guys are eating like rabbits...
If you can get into size 6 jeans... GO GIRL! you deserve it, seriously.
I'm 5' 4" and weight 150-154 dependingon the scale.
I wear a size 12 comfortably.
My goal weight is 120 as noted on the "Peanuts" Metropolitan life bodyweightsize scale.
ps: I wanted to be a size 6 too... especially those of us who have self-payed, ... I don't think it is selfish to want to be a size 6.... and frankly, I don't think it unusual or damaging to think along those lines (within limits of course).... and if you are on you way to a size 6 successfully... keep doing what you're doing.
Sincerest Best WIshes...
I agree with Pat. I had surgery on 6/22/06 and have only lost 81 lbs. I'm not sure why my weight loss is so slow (although I had an extremely slow metabolism and surgery won't change that). I am 5' 3 1/2" and started at 281 wearing a size 24/26. I'm now at 200 and wear a size 14. I can't believe at my height and weight I can wear size 14s. When I was 21 and 160 lbs., I wore a size 13. I'm thinking the sizes must be a lot larger than they were, because if I lose 40 more lbs., I'm sure I'll be down to a 10 if not smaller.
Do you all agree that it seems like the sizes must be running quite a bit larger than they did in the 70's?
