Which weight do you start with??
Hey, I figure you probably worked harder to lose the weight before surgery, so why not count it all especially if it is recent. It is all weight loss! I am just careful to never say "since surgery" when I talk about my biggest loss. The worst I have felt on this board was when I was told that first 15 lbs. didn't count. Believe me, it counts!
My stats:
April 2005 (scheduled surgery): 263 lb.
June 15, 2005 (surgery): 245 lb.
Today: 174 lb.
Total Loss: 89 lb.
I only started calculating from my surgery date, but that was mostly due to the fact that I have no idea how much I weighed at my heaviest. I did Atkins and lost a lot of weight 2 years before surgery, but I didn't have a reliable scale at that time.
I think all weight loss counts though! It is hard to do no matter what method you choose.

Well, my highest "recoreded" weight was 288...but I lost down to 135...then gained back up to 262.....then lost down to 165....then gained back up to 258....then stabilized between 250-255....so I just count from my surgery date at 250 because it's less confusing for me.
I think if you were on a pre-op diet and lost weight and then had the surgery, you absolutely should count it all. It's all part of the same journey, right?
