HAPPY 7 MONTH ANNIVERSARY JUNE 1ST-ERS
happy new year everyone! i just can't believe it has been 7 months already!
so, how did everyone do this month? well, i ended up losing only 5 lbs, but i am not going to complain, considering we all made it thru the holidays! all i can do is hope the weight loss doesn't stop! i still want to make my goal and i know i can do it!
new years resolutions? well, i have a couple!
1. QUIT SMOKING!
nasty, nasty habit! picked it back up only one month post-op. i really, really want to quit, even though the thought of gaining weight from it scares me to death! when i quit last year (2004), i gained 15 lbs!
2. EXERCISE!!!
ok, this has been the worst for me. i don't know if it is laziness or what! but i really need to get into a routine!
if i can conquer these 2 things, everything will be great!

Hi Mary Jo
I'm not going to check in just yet, since I have 26 more days. But, you are doing great!! I too need to exercise more. I didn't want to wait for the 1st, so i started Thursday and have exercised 4 days straight. Which, is a lot for me. I'm going to push for everyday.
Oh, and I want to clean my room and keep it clean.
Happy New Year & anniversary!

I also have 27 days to go but I also ended up losing about the same; 5 lbs. I think of it this way; it is the first Christmas that I have EVER lost during the holidays and that is something to be very pround of!! I have thought of what to have for my new year resolutions and came up with these two:
1. EXERCISE!!!!!
This is also the worst for me and the hardest. It is funny once I get out there doing it I really enjoy it (walking, biking, etc.) but getting the motavation (sp?) is difficult for me. I have started riding my bike at least 3 miles minimum per day. Hope I can keep that up once I go back to school next week.
2. TRACK MY FOOD INTAKE!!
I have been very bad in keep up with how much I ate and not really weighing my food so I have started using FitDay again. I thought for a couple of days that I was getting all my protein in but I was wrong. It was a good eye opener. I also noticed that when I was really tracking my intake I was loosing more. Don't know if there is any relations to the this but it can't hurt. I want to get another 75 kbs off buy my 1st aniversary so I have to get busy.
Somehow I feel more I can do this if I really work at it. Have a wonderful New Year and there will all be a lots less of us posting nest year.

those are good resolutions laural. i am definitely joining you on the exercise one, for sure! i haven't used fitday in awhile. i already know i don't eat enough and don't get in enough protein! i can't deal with the constant reminder!
we are all doing great and i think we will all reach our goal my our one yr anniversary!
hugssss
You are doing sooooo well. I am really happy for you. 16 pounds to goal? Great!!! I have 30 but would like to lose more but the doctor says I will look to thin for my height. Bummer. I didn't make any resolutions this year except not to gain any weight back. Good luck on yours. You are lookin good!!!!
Happy anniversary and New Years!!!
Deloris
I've only lost 6 lbs. this month, but like the rest of you, as long as I keep losing, that is fine with me. I have 39 lbs. left to lose and I am giving myself to around August, so I am on track, and down 89 lbs. so far. I am happy with where I am at as long as I keep working my tool. I have consistently been walking 30 to 50 minutes nearly every day since surgery but recently attended my daughters circuit trainging class and realized how much muscle loss I have had over the years so it is really time to step it up. The doctor and exercise specialist I consulted with say that people who exercise lose better and more consistently in the more difficult second six months. Many people have muscle wasting that don't exercise and that is bad for the heart. So, it is time to move my dear June bugs!!! Hugs to all and Happy New Year!!!! Jo
wow you are doing so well with exercise, jo. i can only imagine how much muscle loss i have. i was in bad shape before surgery from my accident, when i was going to PT, she told me i have very weak abdominal muscles. geez, i need to get my butt in gear!
well, congrats on your success so far! you are really doing this thing!!!
hugsssssssss
Hi mary jo!
Nice new years resolutions!
I think you need to rid the smokes!
for the health of you and the kids.
I been smoke free since my oldest
was about 4. ITS a hard one but
for health reasons its important.
I think it is time to exercise. My surgeon
feels we need this a habit now to help us
in the maintenance stages! SO get crackin!
FOR me i had a good December but honestly
i think it had alot to do with my sickness for
two weeks. I lost 12 lbs this month. So happy
new year mary jo and others!
Be well and work on those resolutions!
