6 MONTH ANNIVERSARY TODAY. 126 POUNDS LOST & STILL NO FILL!
I celebrated 6 months today. I weighed 238 on my doctor's scale which means that I've lost 126 pounds since my May 19th consultation and 122 pounds since my June 10th surgery!! I still have not had a single fill. I went to Dr. Roslyn on Thursday and the feedback from him was incredible. The best positive reenforcement I could have hoped for. He actually motivated me during my last month checkup. I had only lost 8 pounds in November and he said at the time that my weight loss would probably slow down to 4-5 pounds a month. Altough I ate really well this month (especially on Thanksgiving and Sunday mornings at my old favorite breakfast pace that I thought I would have to give up forever when I had my surgery), I lost 19 pounds this month. I guess I wanted to push myself a bitmore. I went from a size 54 waist to a very comfortable 40 waist and I can fit into a size 38 as well. My jacket size went from a 56 regular to a 44 regular. Ironically, I actually ate much more this month and I slowed my exercise routine from every day to 4-5 times a day but I've added boxing, sit-ups, jumping rope and push ups to my LifeCycle work-outs. I believe that I've actually sped up my metabolism through the exercise and change in diet. If anyone is considering having the lap band I encourage them to read the log that I kept on my profile page where I expressed my fears and doubts at the time. If I can do it so can you! I am thrilled with my decision, commitment, results and the wonderful feedback that I receive from family, friends, strangers and fellow "losers" and future losers on this site. More important I feel 25 years old again! Until next time, God bless and good luck!
Lucy, thanks so much and congratulations to you also. That's the real benefit, feeling healthier and hgappier. The fact that the results have come faster than I expected is an added blessing but starting the process and taking it day by day is the first baby step to a better way of life. The picture is an "after" but check out my new "after" picture on my profile. 16 more pounds lost. Took some guts to take that picture!
