HAIR AND WEIGHT LOSS?
Congratulations on no hair loss!!! I lose weight and then nothing for a few days or a week then lose more slowly then all of a sudden boom there went 5 to 8 pounds seems like in one day so, not steady but losing anyway! Hair too! My hair is not coming out too bad but it is coming out, alot more than I would like it too. Don't sweat the stalls, if you are following the guidelines you will lose. Inches or weight but you will lose. I have lost 99 pounds since February and 78 since surgery, just looking forward to onederland. Good Luck.

I do loose regularly and i am going thru i guess a SHEDDING, hair thinning, hair comeing out phase what ever you want to call it.
I am down a total of 98 lbs now.....i take biotin since pre op, i eat ALOT and as much protein as i can every day rarely ever slacking under 80 grams a day.
We touched on this at my sugeons support group meeting being i brought up the hair loss and its really just a side effect most experience, some dont and it grows back at about 6 to 8 months on average. SO im dealing, useing extra curling products and scrunching products to keep it looking full. I do have thick hair so i guess ill be fine.
I really loose every week, but some weeks 2 lbs some weeks more. I think im averaging now at 12 lbs a month....hope that helps you! UP THAT protein in take and water and i bet the scale will move. Or another thing i do when i have a slo week is i eat berries and nuts and it keeps me moving i dont know why.
GOOD LUCK

Last week was the first week I hadnt lost any at all, but this week I lost 2. I seem to go in streaks, but for the most part its usually 2-4 lbs a week. I am happy with my progress. I havent noticed much of a hair loss yet. Hopefully I wont..I wouldnt get discouraged though with your stall, it will take off again soon and I am sure you are losing inches, its just not showing on the scale.
I go through stages of losing and then plateau. It drives me nuts. I lose 2 lbs, then nothing for 3-4 days, then lose, then nothing. I am losing my hair by the handfuls each day. When I wash my hair in the morning it is really bad. I wonder if Biotin really helps. I guess I should try it. Anyway, I have been losing weight like this pretty much from the beginning, but it is still steady. I have really been trying not to get on the scale every day, but that is so hard. I have lost 60 lbs since 6/13/05. I wi**** was more, but hey, I'll take it. One thing that seems to help me is if I up my food intake just a little and then it seems to move my plateau. Hope you end your plateau soon. Good luck.
Hello,
My hair has been falling out in the shower for 3 weeks now. It seems to be getting a little worse. My hair doesn't look bad, but it certainly isn't the same as it used to be.
I'm going to look into Biotin and Nioxin tomorrow.
I'm losing very, very slowly right now (probably not enough water and exercise). I'm down 64 pounds since 6/15.
I have been taking a lot of Biotin (sub-lingual) every day since a couple of weeks before my surgery. I also started using Nioxin about 6 weeks ago. I am losing a LOT of hair. It is all over my clothing and when I carefully comb or shampoo, it comes out a lot! I have always had thin, fine hair and now I can see my scalp through the hair on top
I have lost 60 lbs now. I was losing about 15 lbs a month but the last month only ten. I am eating too much, maybe 600-700 cal a day. I AM exercising regularly.

Well, I will honestly say that the first 6 weeks after surgery I was so messed up (mentally) that I did not get all my protein in or my fluids or meals for that matter and my hair shedding has been almost since the beginning. I know that this sounds so dumb but i have no idea how much I loose per week but i lose about 15-20 pounds a month SO FAR ( I have lost 74 total since 6-29-2005) but I retain fluids during PMS time and then after I find that i am down a few pounds. Remember that everyone says that the smaller you are before surgery, the slower that you will lose. so keep that in mind
My weight loss is pretty slow but steady I loose around 3 pounds a week but I can go a week and not loose then the next couple of weeks the scale seems to jump? I have PCOS so my haor was always falling out so I can't notice much of a change to be honest. I would be bold enough to say I have not lost any hair to WLS so far ::knocks on wood:: and I'm pretty bad at getting all my protein in too.
I have been taking Silica Complex for the past month to help prevent the extra hairloss.
