In Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend (Oct 8,9,10). I was silly enough to think I was strong to cook for my family yesterday. Well, I was right, no problem with cooking, I did not sample throughout the day. The buffet had cauliflower, carrots, corn, turnips, potatoes, stuffing, yams, turkey, ham, buns, gravy and salad along with a sugar free pumpkin pie and sugar free apple pie. It was yummy. my company of 12 thought it was a superb meal. (Including mom - she owns a catering business, I learned from the best) I kept a great portion control all day yesterday but this morning I woke up and wanted leftovers. LOTS of leftovers. Now most of the company took plenty home but still left a large container of the carb friendly foods such as potatoes and stuffing along with my turkey. It took me 1/2 hour to eat a good size plate of mash pot and gravy....it was sooo good. Now I feel tremendously guilty, like that 4lbs I lost last week will reappear next week, kinda guilty. So warning to all you turkey-cooking-lovers - go to someone else's house for Thanksgiving in November! The leftovers will create guilt and havoc... Just wanted to vent - going to do my "guilt" dishes now. Silly. 418-311/onederland.

Hey Silly, Thanks for the suggestions, I think I will definitely NOT cook this year... But, I have to say, you did sooooo well. Don't be so hard on yourself. Just think of the accomplishment on the day you cooked!!! I doubt you'll have much of a set back with 1 meal. My guess is that you may have a lb or so bounce back with fluid retention and then it will be gone again right away. I honestly think you did great!!!! Jo

You're way too hard on yourself. Remember that this isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Who do you know that is perfect all of the time? Besides, when I'm bad is usually when the lbs. start dropping again. Chin up! You're entitled, occasionally! Enjoy this little transgression and keep an eye on the goal! Good Luck, Kristie

Silly, hello hun I just wante to say Happy Holiday and I know the feeling of guilt but think about how far you have come, before we would have NEVER felt that guilty before or we would not even worry about it but now look, we get worried right away. Do you know how good that is in itself? VERY GOOD. I know I get upset with myself in these times as well and I also just try to say ok, I had a bad day and I will just move on. ~Hugs~ Take care hun and have a GREAT day today ~Hugs~ Debra P 285/211/125??

Dont feel quilty, just look at it as a reward for doing so great. The leftovers will be gone and you will be back on track. I work for our Thanksgiving so I wont have to worry about that. My mom will fix a plate for me, but knowing her it wont contain much..but thats okay. Its nice to have people looking out for us..
