OMG, Lisa.....my hair has been falling out like crazy for a month now. I knew this was possible, but I wasn't too concerned since my hair is (WAS) so thick. Now, I'm concerned. HANDFULS each day. I get out of the shower and it is all over me. I use a pick to comb my hair (thinking a comb would pull more out) and I get at least another handfull in my pick. Plus, what falls all over my clothes throughout the day. It's just sickening. I lost so much and I'm still losing! I colored my hair last weekend and that fluffed it back up a little. BUT I still had to get it cut/shaped because it had become sooooooo uneven and lopsided looking. I'm getting scared....you could not see my scalp at all pre-op.....but I'm starting to see it in the front. I hope it stops soon! I ordered a wig on-line....but I can't wear that thing. I obviously do not know what I'm doing in the wig territory. This just needs to resolve itself before I HAVE to wear a wig!! Pam

OH pam sorry your goin thru this and i think yours is sounding as bad as mine. I hate this phase, i knew about it but damn.....this is alot of loss. I am going to try too look at the request of another JUNEBUG...a hair extension to clip in the back maybe. HARD to match my highlighted hair in color but i need something. I had pre op very thick, natrually curley hair and its now far straighter and soooooooooooooooo thin....i even see near the part between my bangs and the back balding spot where the scalp shows so much. GLAD everyone is comeing to post...this is so far my most difficult thing to deal with. I cant imagine how bad ill look by the holiday season with all this falling out this fast! Well lets all be strong and if anyone finds a thickening product that works let me know. IM thinking to try that product on HSN that i have seen i think the sammy product little moose thing that makes everyones hair so full...i dunno...im getting desparate and may have to splurge on this item. I dont want to wait to see it air i hope i can find it on the web site. WELL thanks all bye for now lisa

SANDY... I dont take the OMEGA three supplement, i did when i did atkins and still had the hair thinning stage...but worse now so not sure how much that really helps. YET your not having it yet. MY protein is mostly what i eat in a day. I dont fully count but i know im about at 80 grams what my surgeon wnats. I know people say we should have more. THERE isnt much i ever eat that isnt loaded with protein. I am very good with that issue. THANKS for the info i may have to go try the omega threes too again! ANYTHING to stop this hair from comeing out so fast. thanks sandy lisa

Well, hate to say it, but I swear I'm going to bald in about another month at this rate. I too am losing hair at an alarming rate. It started about two weeks ago. I hate to brush my hair because my sink gets covered in hair -not to mention the shower drain. Yikes! I had no idea it would fall out this fast. I'm already getting two bald spots around my hairline. I HATE IT! Thank goodness I had a lot of hair to begin with or I'd be bald already. I hope it stops soon.

Hi Lisa, This has been happening to me since I was about 4 weeks out. I am almost done I hope!!! I have lost so much hair and not sure how I still have some left on my head. I was told by my sister which is my hairdresser not to spend the money on products because it is a waste of money. They do not work. It is something we just have to deal with and hope it stops soon!! Hope you are feeling better. I have been slacking on the boards. So much has been going on since surgery. Shelley 298/233/130

One of the surgeons I know said the two main things to help with avoiding hair loss are (1) protein and (2) zinc. . . . I have been pretty good about both, though admittedly, there are weeks where sometimes I go two or three days without getting in adequate protein, but I am not doing too badly. I noticed in the last couple of weeks that it seems I am losing a lot of hair every day, but I am not sure if that is just my usual pile of hair coming out or extra .... it doesn't look bad and I have seen folks who have had hair thin to the point they had clumps coming out and that looks very unfortunate. So, I am hoping that if I am losing hair, it just thins out evenly, then will grow back later. Good luck. - Beth

I'm right there with y'all!!! I was hoping this wouldn't happen to me, but not such luck!! I brush my hair and pull handfuls of hair out of the brush. I wash my hair and there's hair EVERYwhere!! I'm grateful my hair was very thick to begin with, but at this rate, I'm beginning to wonder!! I need some $$ so I can get it cut and shaped so maybe it'll look fuller. UGH!!! Connie 410/347/267/134

I am beginning to lose hair also. My surgeon told me to continue taking Biotin and add 100 mg of Zinc and up my protein level.
