Yeah, mine is coming out by the handfuls too. But everyone is commenting on my new size and doesn't seem to notice the hair loss. Except that I'm constantly picking it off of my clothes! I have friends who have done the extra protien from day one, the biotin, and everything else - but everyone ends up with new hair cuts to cover the thinning. My friend Shannon is even going with bangs and layers, and it looks great on her! Just keep the focus on the NEW YOU. Maybe it's time for a hair change, anyway. Right?! Keep your chin up. You're doing GREAT! Kristie

Hi Lisa- Oh yes my hair is falling out at an alarming rate. I knew it was coming- my Dr told me it was a side effect of losing so much weight so fast. He told me it would stop and start to fill in again- boy I hope so!!! I was going to try "protein" shampoo but my hairdresser told me it would kill my perm. UGH! We'll just have to wait and see- and PRAY! Maybe it's time for a shorter 'do! ~Robin 285/226/150

No hair loss for me so far, at least no more than usual. I, like the rest of you am eating lots of protein and I take Biotin too but I was told by several people that nothing seems to help, it just happens, and then grows back. I am sure I'll be joining you soon. Jo

ME TOO! It started on my 3 month anniversery. Everyday more and more is coming out. I cut it a few weeks ago, but that hasn't helped, so this weekend I am going to cut it much shorter. Supposedly if your hair is shorter it is less of a strain on the folicles so it shouldn't fall out as quickly. WHO KNOWS! Everyone has a different story, Everyone's doctor tells them something else. It is trial and error! I use very expensive GOOD shampoo and conditioner and that hasn't helped. So now I need to try the biotin vitamins (which I have been told only helps the regrowth and doesn't stop it from falling out) and then if that doesn't work, just wear a pony tail. My cousin cut her hair really short, slicked it back w/ gel and added a fake ponytail every day. She had different ponytails for different days. So I guess we all just have to deal! IT SUCKS BIG TIME! I AM VERY SAD about this, my hair is my life, but in my profile it is up in most of the pics, b/c it doesn't do what it used to. Good Luck Everyone! Ilyssa

I am very hai obsessive. I never put it up in a pony tail....clever idea to use a hair extension piece there all over, i just never find them in my color....Hmmm thanks for an interesting thing to try find a ponytail piece to fill out. NO one else has noticed i just do....cant miss it all over me all day...in the shower drain and it just feels thin. OH WELL THANKS FOR something to work on a hair piece ponytail! LISA

yup.. I am shedding more than my dogs now! But I expected it, and in return I have lost 75 lbs so I think it's a good trade! I have always had really thick hair but my hair stylist said that it is getting really thin on top, so that comb over is sounding better and better all the time! Rita

Lisa, Funny you post this today as this was the major issue I discussed with my doc today. He said it is normal, but in my case it is because of low iron and zinc and suggested MAXIHAIR - I've got the website in my purse in order to order the suppliment. If you want it, email me for it - I don't know where my purse is rightnow... Silly - down 107!

I havent really noticed any alarming amount of hair loss yet.I do expect it, but maybe I will be lucky and not lose too much. I never notice it on my clothes or in the tub. But honestly I dont pay attention. Once it starts I am sure I will be noticing every strand that falls out. Just hang in there and it will all be back thicker and healthier along with our healthy bodies.. Carla.

Hi Lisa! I am sorry to hear about your hair.... it has not happened to me YET.... but that does not mean that it will not..... I had better prepare myself mentally! I do have a couple of suggestions/questions.. Are you getting in enough "omega-3 fatty acids"?? I take 1/2 tbs very refined fish oil a day however sufficent amnt of flax seeds would also work... I would highly suggest that you make sure "enough" omega 3's are in your diet! Also, how much protein are you getting in per day? I have ALWAYS been ENVIOUS of YOUR weight loss... I am not nearly as fast as you... so I know what you are doing is RIGHT.. but are you getting in enough protein? I really would suggest 100 gms per day... as we do not absorb everything we take in, I believe we need to supplement at a bit higher level... and I know extra protein does help hair. My two cents regarding this! Congratulations on your outstanding progress thus far! I am sure the hair loss will stop soon.... Your wls friend Sandy
