OKAY JUNEBUGS...who else is experiencing this

HI junebugs.... Well the side effect i knew of before is starting for me big time and boy i dont like this at all. MY hair is thinning big time. THE shower drain every day has a huge blob of my hair, and my hair is just looking sooooo thin. I dont like it. I been takeing the biotin since BEFORE surgery to hopefully help with this but its not helping. AM i the only one or what friends? SAD...I am very nuts when it comes to my hair so this is difficult for me! LISA 310/215/????

Hi Lisa I am lucky. Not in that my hair isn't falling out, because it is by the handfuls, but that my hair was so thick before that no one can tell it's thinning. I'm sure that is just a matter of time before it stops. I'm taking prenatals, taking extra biotin, and using that shampoo - I foget the name. But, It's still coming out. I'm going to start having some hair treatments next week that are supposed to help with shedding. I am also working on getting more protein in. I'm around 70 to 80 gms but I want to get it up to 100. Mine is falling out too. Hope it doesn't last long. I have heard, don't know for sure, that is comes back thicker. Hope so in my case anyway, I am thin to begin with. I notice it is breaking off rather than coming out at the roots. Wonder if lack of fats is making it dry like when you take chemo? I pray this is temporary for all of us. Deloris 309/288/215/135

THANKS again deloris... I know i have lost alot in the last two weeks and cant imagine this going on for 4 months. I heard it does come in..... BUT until then im gonna be one miserable lady! THIS IS HARD! thanks nice to no im not alone on this issue. LISA

Oh Yeah, My bathroom floor looks newly carpeted every day! I have thick hair so no notices but me...........but at this rate I should be bald by Christmas! I sure hope it levels out soon. Gayle

Oh I'm so feeling the same way...My hair is falling out by the handfull. It's sad =( I had just cut 10 inches off before my surg....for fear my hair would thin. Now I'm losing more?? It's making me crazy! My dr said it is from lack of fats in my new diet....he said try to cook with A LITTLE oil. I've also been taking Biotin and Zinc....but it doesn't seem to be helping. Hopefully it will stop soon. ~Issy

THATS interesting about the fat but im thinking its not that. I just think its the shock and the rapid weight loss. I do know this is known to happen on ATKINS too and if you follow atkins to the Letter you know to keep the fats up. IT happened to me then to just not as bad now. I am glad everyone to know this is me alone cause im very upset about this even thought it was expected! I heard for 4 months, till we see new growth we all better by warm winter hats this year to help. THANKS everyone it helps to no im not alone! lisa

Does this part suck or what?!? I knew it was going to happen I just didn't expect it too be so bad either. i an totally obsessed with my hair- so any changes and I have a fit. I started a new haircut a few months before the surgery- more layers on the top- it seems to help hide the thin spots. I have become queen of the comb-over. AAUUGGHH!! WLS = to If you do it right though, it just looks textured- not "hair piece". I gues it's good that the cold weather is coming - hats!! My girlfirend who had the WLS a year and a half ago said it fell out big-time- she got super thin- but then it started coming back at about the 1 year point. i hope it comes back sooner for all of us. I guess all things considered- it could be much worse. I was very lucky to have no complications so far and fairly good success weightloss-wise, so I guess I can't really complain too much. But I will anyway!! Good luck my soon-to-be-hairless buddies!! Erica
