Is anyone here suffering from Insomnia? I had sleep apnea before surgery I was sleepy all the time If I did not use my Bi-Pap. Since surgery 06/29 I have lost 41lbs. I have not had to use my Bi-Pap to sleep at night and I am very alert in the day. For the last 3 weeks I have been suffering from insomnia I am averaging 4 hours a night and I'm not sleepy in the daytime which is very weird to me. Is anyone else suffering from this? Is this normal? Also, is there anyone who has had surgery about the same time as me? How much have you lost? I am 5"4 and I was 280 before surgery I am now 239 a loss of 41lbs.

I dont really suffer from insomnia, but I do have a hard time falling asleep at night, but once I am asleep I usually sleep. I had my surgery on the 21st of June and have lost 64 lbs. I weighed 281 when I started this venture and now I am 217. I am also 5'4". This losing weight is so much fun huh?

Yes, I have insomnia also. My sleepy pills don't seem to work like they did before surgery. I had my surgery on the 12th of June. I am 5'5'' and was 278 before surgery and am now 216, but the scale hasn't moved in awhile and I am getting stressed about that, but of course I am not exercising like I know I need to, so I know that I just need to get my big butt moving!!

Yes, I feel I have more energy because of all the protein. I have insomnia and have to take lorenzapan every nite. The ambien would not allow me to sleep all nite. I have ordered some spray meletonin and hope it will work. I can definatly relate. joni

Hi, caren, I ahd my surgery on the same day as you and i have been battling insomnia also. I spoke to my surgeon at my 3 month check and she asked me if i thught it was all the energy that I now have. I do not know but I think that it may be. I am 5'7 and weight 223 down from 291. I guess I have more energy than I used to but i certainly feel alot better. stacey

I have had a few nights where i had like a restless leg thing going!!! Could not fall asleep for the life of me! took about 4hrs of flipping over and rolling around! I too used to be tired all the time, so the waking up feeling great is much better! BUT i need to fall asleep first. Not taking anything to make me sleep, just laying there... or reading.. that helps. Tam 6/15/05 268/194/???
