Any Ladies with PCOS?
Are there any ladies that have had weight loss surgery that have been diagnosed with PCOS?
I have PCOS. My weight loss as usual is very slow and I have to fight hard to get it. I had my 3 month Post Op on September 19th. I have lost 45 pounds.
How are you doing? If you have PCOS (poly cystic ovarian Syndrome), please write and let me know how you are doing.
Hi Diana-
I have had Gastric Bypass and have PCOS. My surgery date was June 23rd and I have lost 57 lbs. you loss of 45 lbs is FANTASTIC!! Don't let it get you down, everyone loses at a different pace. If you want to speed things up try more water, protein and excersize.
When I start to feel like I'm not losing enough my husband asks me "When was the last time you lost 50lbs in 3 months?" I have to admit he's got a point. I have just started losing again after getting past a plateau. It's taken us how many years to put it on? It will all come off. Give yourself a pat on the back for what you have lost and keep on track!
Keep in touch,

Hi there!
I'm a visitor from the May 2005 boards, but I just wanted to let you know that I was diagnosed with PCOS pre-surgery, too.
So far, I'm down 85 lbs (70 through surgery), and feel great! Before the surgery, I was in pain all the time from the formation/bursting of the cysts. And I hadn't had a cycle (without birth control pills) since I was fifteen.
Now, I haven't had so much as a flutter, and I've had three regular periods since my surgery.
My endocrinologist took me off Metformin almost immediately, so I can officially say that my PCOS is under control through diet and weight loss.
If you ever want to chat...
Hi Diana!
I had surgery two days before you and I've lost 47 pounds so far. I've been afraid that it's too slow too, but I'm happy that I'm losing.
I've had PCOS for a LONG time was taking metformin and aldactone before surgery, went off them both about two weeks before my surgery. I had labs done yesterday and haven't seen the results yet, but I've had a period every month since surgery.
