Protein Shakes....

Hi Everyone, I have a powdered vanilla protein shake supplement that I mix with nonfat milk or water, it tastes ok but I am getting tired of it and starting not to drink it very often now. I drink my protein shakes at work so I can't really break out with the blender and have to clean a blender mess at work. I was wondering if anyone had some quick and easy (low carb) ideas to spruce up the taste of their protein shakes at work. I have tried adding crystal light but it is a little to sweet for my new tummy, so I don't really like it...any other ideas? Thanks for the ideas, Tina

Hi Tina, You are welcome for the other post, my pleasure. I have gotten so much help from this site, it is really just repeating what I've heard. It is so great to have each other for support. I agree that we shouldn't compare weight loss, we all lose at our own pace, the way our bodies need to and just think, if you lose slower, your skin will snap back better I am the broken record of Nectar Protein by Syntrax, I really like it, it shakes right up, isn't too sweet tasting (you can add a little more water, and ice if you like). I get it at bariatriceating.com and love the fuzzy navel. Good luck Tina!! Oh, by the way, I think your Profile is darling, and you are very pretty too, you are going to get many an admiring look from the guys woman Jo

I love my vanilla shakes. Ya know why? Cause I can add just about any type of flavor to it and it tastes great! My current favorite is Crystal Lite Sunrise Orange Clasic. Wow!! Creamsicle wonderful! I also use SF Torani and DaVinci syrups. Works really good. www.davincigourmet.com www.torani.com Give them a try. Also, take a look at Vitalady.com for a really good selection of different flavored protein shakes. She even has samples you can try to see if you like a protein before you buy a whole tub. well what I do is get some sugar free low carb vanilla ice cream and add bananas, strawberries or whatever fruit you like. I also make a ice cappuccino like one where I add mil**** vanilla ice cream, vanilla protein powder and a tablespoon of decaf coffee crystals. this one is really good and easy to drink. I have a list of protein shake recipies. If you like I can email them to you.

Hi Tina, Two shakes I really like: I mix Anywhey unflavored protein with Wylers (I use about half the amount of Wylers so it's not as sweet.) The other that I love first thing in the morning is Matrix 5.0 perfect chocolate. I mix it with warmed carb countdown chocolate milk - makes a good cup of cocoa and doesn't have that protein powder taste to me. 316/225/Healthy

I love the nectar shakes too. But i have found a great trick for taking them to work and other places. I use empty bottles from bottled water (I take a bottled water to work and bring the empty home). I make up my shake in the morning, pour it into the bottle, and take it in my lunch bag with ice packs to keep it cold. Then I throw out the bottle. I just can't deal with trying to mix something up at work! Also in my lunch bag is usually: a string cheese stick, a 4oz cottage cheese, and a sugar-free apple sauce. Sometimes a protein bar. My lunch bag is one of those soft, insulated bags that looks like a handbag. I am usually at work for 10-12 hours, so I need a few provisions to keep me going.
