Is that a lot? Im worried that I am going to screw this all up! Hi Julie, I am just a little over 3 months out myself, and I can easily eat 3 oz of grilled chicken and veggies. I think this is normal. I asked my Dr about it and he said that is fine. I am down 80lbs, and the weight loss is still going. So I dont think you have anything to worry about. Keep up the good work. Your doing great in my opinion.

I can and usually do eat about 3 oz of chicken and veggies. My big kick now is home made stirfry of chicken with onions, red peppers, orange peppers and green peppers with a dash of teriaki. I would eat that three times a day if I could. Sometimes, I go to Chick Fila for lunch. I order the chargrilled filet with cheese (it comes without bread or toppings). Sometimes I can only eat half of it...other times I have to stop myself from eating the whole thing when I realize that I've eaten 3/4 of it. It hasn't affected my weight loss though. I'm 3 1/2 months out and down 65 pounds. I think it depends on what we eat too. We are making healthy choices. There are other things that I can't eat nearly as much of. I was on the road for several hours yesterday and stopped at Arby's. I ordered a regular roast beef. I took the bun off and just nibbled on the roast beef. I couldn't even eat half of it. I was stuffed. Visually, there was far less roast beef eaten than my normal chicken and veggie combo. Isn't that wierd? I thought it was wierd. I'm kind of glad though. That roast beef is so high in sodium. Another example: My hubby and I went out for seafood dinner. I told him just to order the crab dip as an appetizer and whatever meal he wanted. I would just pick from that. I ate 3 saltines with crab dip on them and I was stuffed. I'm still so surprised whenever that happens. I don't think you have anything to worry about. You are doing great! Pam

Hey Julie, For me it varies. There are some days that I feel like I eat so much food and then others where I am full after a few bites, so I guess it all balances itself out. Keep up the good work!!!!! Lisa

I have been surprising myself lately too. I can eat 3/4 a Lean Cuisine. I only get a full feeling from drinking. I just make myself stop when eating. I'm not sure if I'm overdoing it or not since my stomach doesn't have much sensation.

Hi, I think that your doing fine. I'm down 65 lbs. Sometimes I can eat more or less depending on the item-I also never drink and eat at the same time. Your progressing fine- weight loss may decrease or increase at times. Remember, we all are different and doctors recommend in various ways. Smile and know that WL is yours!!!!

I am so with you! A friend who had WLS in December and I were talking about this same thing this morning. I was worried because I grazed all weekend-something I've not done since surgery. She had the same problem, but we agreed that we can eat more sometimes than others. I think we're fine, but it definitely causes a "startle response". I'm making a more conscious effort to monitor my eating, though! Good Luck to you! Kristie
