THROW IT OUT!!!!

Hey guys!! How are you all doing? I have read a few posts about getting back into old habits and how hard it is to stick to being good. Well, I think we all know that or we wouldn't be in the position we were in when we signed on for this! It is HARD!!!! So this is what I have done.. Instead of worrying about the poor children in Ethiopia who don't have as much as me, or thinking that I am wasting money, or any other excuse.. I just THROW IT OUT!! When there is food giving me the evil eye..telling me it's ok to have a little taste... I just say..HELL NO!! I am NOT going to fall into that trap again. In the past, I would eat something just because it was THERE! Now, when my daughter hands me a half sandwhich or a cookie that she has left over, I THROW IT OUT before the smell hypnotizes me into submission! Is this all a game?? I suppose parts of it could be called a game. But listen, we can all do it! Something got our butts INTO surgery. It wasn't a whim or a lark.. we meant business! So, I believe that if we reach down and review the reasons we did this to begin with, that inner strength will again reveal itself!! Someone once made a statement that was instrumental in putting me in the right mind frame for all of this. I was reading posts before I had made my final decision to do this. One girl wrote, "NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIS FEELS". You know what?? She was right!! Let's all pray for each other's strength and power!! Stay tough! YOU ARE WORTH IT!!! Best wishes to all!! All I can say to that is AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter is living with me right now and she brought some chex mix home and I without thinking about it picked up a handful and ate it then before I knew it I had eaten 3 or 4 handfulls. I was appalled at myself. I knew that that is one food that I cant have in the house. I was going to buy some baked cheetos the other day and then I decided that even if I wouldnt dump on them they still had no nutritional value so I passed on them. Good luck to us all! May the food demons pass us by. Lynn

And another AMEN from me!!! I don't have kids at home anymore, they are both grown, so it is much easier for me, but I do not have any snack food in the house at all and if someone brings stuff as a guest, I ask them if they'd take it home with them. If not, I do throw it out. I didn't have my insides rearranged for nothin' Not that I won't have my trying and tough moments but I am going to do my best to stay tough. Thanks!!! Jo

I will let my son get Pop-Tarts, but not in cherry or strawberry, I know I can't control myself. We also only buy individual sized chips, and only 1 bog per person eating them. Oh and absolutely no Sugar Corn Pops or Fruit Loops are allowed in the house.
