Daily Calorie Intake
Please let me know how many calories you guys are eatting each day. I used to keep it around 600-650 but lately it has sometime been as high as 900-1000. I am afraid and really know it is to high. I go up that high when I get my protein in at 60+. Any suggestions and help is appreciated.

My doc's office suggested staying under 750 calories the first year and 1000 a day ever after. That is just one recommendation though, so I'd like to hear from others. I am now getting in 85 to 100 grams of protein a day with 3 Nectar Protein Shakes and eating protein first. I avoid carbs like the plague unless I have just a tiny taste and NO sugar. I also get in over 85 oz of liquid a day. My calories are typically under 650. I hope this helps. I would suggest making some mild adjustments. If you do protein shakes, try to find one that is under 100 calories if you haven't already. Good luck!!! Jo
From the numbers you look like you are doing great!!! I have and average of 600-700 calories a day and 70-80 protein, try to keep the fat under 15 grams and shoot for less than 30 carbs. Sometimes I go over...but..... I Exercise at least 5 hours a week and drink, drink, drink. I have eaten 1000 calories but that is few and far between, really depends on the day. Some days I just can't get it all in and others I feel like I could eat and eat. I watch it on Fitday.com and average my week instead of doing a daily thing. Seems to work for me. Good Luck to you but I think you are doing fine. Congratulations on the surgery and good luck on your weight loss. Deloris 309/288/235/135
Today, I took in:
710 calories,
83 grams of protein, (from milk, veggies, cheese, chicken & Protein drink)
27 carbs, (from milk, veggies, protein drink)
29 grams of fat (from 2 oz cheese, 6 oz 2%milk, 1 C chicken, protein drink)
I use fitday.com to track what I eat, weight loss, exercise, etc. It's cool.
If I remember correctly, my nut said that my calorie intake should be up around 800 around 6 months out....and then by a year out up to around 1000-1200. I think you are probably okay. You may just want to evaluate your food choices. I know I've been over 900 calories in a day, but it's only happened a couple of times. If you are drinking several protein drinks in a day, that will increase your calories. I am trying to get my protein from food and drinking one protein drink a day.
My today went like this:
Breakfast: Chicken with sauteed peppers/onions
Lunch: Protein Shake
Snack: 2 oz cheddar cheese
Dinner: Chicken with sauteed veggies
I also bought some salmon filets for later in the week. They are loaded with protein.
I don't know if any of this helps..... I hope it does.
Best of luck to you!
Pam
