A little nervous...
Hi all,
I start school tomorrow for the first time since my surgery. I teach third grade and am a little nervous about how I'm going to function at school. I've been blessed to have all of this time off since the surgery to rest and recover. I threw up for the first time tonight- not sure if it was nerves or from some chicken that didn't set very well with me.
Anyways, I'm hoping the day will go smoothly and I can keep getting in the liquids and protein.
Have a great day,
Kerri
Thanks you guys for the words of encouragement. I just finished day 2. The kids are good, and I am surviving the first week back. I'm trying to get the protein in, but still am struggling with finding time to eat.
I'm sure it will get easier as the time goes on. I appreciate your support!
God bless,
Kerri
I hear you Kerri,
I don't know how people do this when they have to go back to work after 6 weeks or less. I was off until Mid-August. I would go through the day and forget to eat and drink because I was so busy with schedule changes and nervous freshman. The other couselors at the school have been great and call me everyday at various time and say, "Drink something!" and then hang up. It is kind of funny but it really has helped to keep me sipping my water. We also arranged it so we eat at the same time everyday which helps. The biggest problem is I only have about 20 minutes to eat so I have to eat fast.

I work for the school system too, and have been back at work since Aug. 15th. I've done a horrible job with eating and drinking adequately, and since the hurricane, I've barely walked or been to the gym b/c we've been working so many hours with relief efforts. You take it easy - starting Monday, I'm back to taking care of myself first. Hard to do when your job, and your personality, is to take care of everyone and everything else. Just remember that those kids need you at your best, and you have to do what you need to be there for them.
Good luck,
Kristie
