I have been getting all kinds of inspiration. I went to Susan Maria's website and found the following, thought I'd share... I am getting happier and more confident about the rate of loss... I can't be happier that I have you all to turn to for support and help. Thank you!!!! Jo Q: I was so inspired by your book, I had my weight loss surgery on June 22 and I am down only 25 lbs. I am at 200 (5 foot 7) so disappointing at a month and a half any suggestions? Teresa - 8/11/05 A: Don't focus on how 'little' you have lost. First of all it isnt a little amount by any means. Remember any diet we have ever been on... wouldnt we normally be happy with losing 25 pounds? Sure we were... and this 25 pounds is not coming back! Focus on the longterm goals of health and strength and dont worry about the day to day weight loss. You are in this one for LIFE and what you lose this week or this month doesnt matter. You are trying to change habits and learn new behaviors. Once you meet that goal you will be a post op success even if you havent yet reached your weight goal. If you do all the right things... eat protein first, eliminate the bad carbs (bread, potatoes, rice, pasta) from your diet, take your vitamins, drink plenty of water, take protein supplements to make sure you get at least 80 grams a day, and WALK or EXERCISE... you will eventually get to goal no matter how long it takes! Keep up the great work, 25 pounds is GREAT!
