Awesome job, Beth!!! Your exercise appears to be really making a difference! Fantastic (and quick) weight loss! May I ask, do you monitor the grams of protein that you take in.. as well as calories and oz of water a day?? I am wondering what exactly you do (other that that wonderful exercise) to keep those pounds shedding off as fast as they are! I would love your input! Congrats.. keep up the great work! Sandy

Sandy, I just so happened to have written down some basics on another post on this board earlier today. Someone was asking what we are all eating, so I responded there. Check it out: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/surgdate-forums/06-2005/postdetail/4196.html?vc=0 If you have questions or can't use this link, let me know. Bottom line is, I get at least 50 grams of protein in each day, try hard to get my 64 oz. of water, avoid carbs (especially "manufactured", non-natural carbs), keep my intake less than 500 calories per day, and take my supplements. My exercise definitely helps and I believe that the exercise is increasing my metabolic rate. I also do weight training after I do my cardio work, which helps build muscle. Bigger muscles burn more energy, thus increasing my metabolic rate. Also, in my case, since I have so much to lose, and started out so big, I think that is part of the reason why I have lost so quickly. However, I think the reason I have, at least so far, maintained such a rapid pace is due to the formula I described in summary above (and in detail on that post I linked above). I hope this helps you and anyone else who is reading. I wish everyone the best with their weight loss surgery tool! - Beth

Hey there June Bugs!!! Well, I am almost at 3 months. I will be there on the 13th. As of now, I have lost 63 pounds. I am happy with that result, but still need some work on my head! I still get scared that when I wake up, I am back to my old size again..how silly! Once in a while, I even feel a little bit sad that I can't enjoy food quite the way I used to. I am not crazy, I would NEVER go back! Trust me, when I get those sad feelings, I lie down till they go away! The small things I miss don't even come close to measuring up to the joy and excitement of the benefits I have experienced. I don't want to sound like one of those whiny types that you all want to line up and slap. TRUST ME, I am thrilled! Just sharing some inner thoughts! I still have a little problem getting all my liquids in too. But I am working on it! This is all a learning experience, and an amazing ego trip. Don't you all feel like you are finally succeeding at the impossible? Like it's something you never thought would really work? Thank God! So, we continue and keep learning and getting healthier! Even a little sexier...if that's possible!! Keep up all the great work everyone! Remember that we aren't in a race against each other. We are all in this together! No one wins..but we all lose!! Take good care, Rossana 334/271/???

hi fellow june budies. Since surgery 6/27 I am down 43lbs I have had sloow weeks and fast ones. But..when I do 90-100 grams of protein I loose more. I drink 64 0z of water per day. Does not include other liquids. but Its hard to know when I eat chicken etc. How much protein I am getting. When I can get in two protein shakes I do better. I'm so glad I am in the same ball park as everyone else. Love to read all your experiences. way to go girls.marcia

Congrats to all of you that have lost the weight you wanted to! I feel like I'm losing weight too slowly. I had surgery on 6/28 and I've only lost 40lbs. I see all the other major weight losses and I feel like I'm behind. I go back for my 3 month appt. on 6/23, so hopefully I will lose a few more lbs before then. Again Congrats to everyone!! Dawn
