How Much Have We All Lost????
Hi Sandy,
It sounds like you're doing very well. I had my surgery on June 23rd. I've lost 48 lbs. Sometimes it feels so slow. I never lose more than a lb in a day, usually 4/10 lb. or so. Often I've gone several days and not lost anything. I know that I'm not getting in enough liquids, but my protein is fine. My doctor has told me that I have to take in a minimum of 80g of protein a day, 90-100 is better.
I started at 332, so I thought I would lose fairly fast. Even from the get-go, I didn't lose quickly. It's nice to see that some people are losing fast, but there are others that are about in the same place as myself.
I appreciate the encouragement. I know that it will eventually come off.
Take care,
Kerri
I HAVE LOST 48 LBS. SINCE MY SURGERY ON JUNE 14TH. I AM HAPPY BUT WI**** WAS MORE. I WORK OUT 4 DAYS A WEEK (3 DAYS WITH A TRAINER) IT'S ALITTLE BIT OF A BUMMER OF PEOPLE WHO WEIGHED LESS THAN ME AND HAVE LOST MORE THAN ME IN THE SAME TIME FRAME. I KNOW WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT, BUT I WISH I COULD MAKE THE SCALE MOVE FASTER.
I STICK TO EVERYTHING THAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO. TOO AFRAID TO TRY THINGS THAT I SHOULDN'T BE HAVING (WHICH IS A GOOD THING).
I SURE MISS MY SIERRA MIST ONCE IN AWHILE. BUT I FEEL BETTER GETTING OUT OF BED. GOING TO THE GYM, BEING IN SMALLER CLOTHES.
MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS NORMAL. HOPEFULLY I CAN GET RID OF THIS DUMB C-PAP SOON. I WILL GET TESTED AGAIN ONCE I LOSE ANOTHER 2 LBS. I GO FOR MY 3 MONTH CHECK-UP ON THE 12TH. THEN I CAN SEE HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE THE SCALES ARE BETWEEN THE DOCTORS AND THE GYM.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE JUNE LOSERS!!!!

Everyone is doing so well!!!
I had surgery on June 14th and as of today I am down 59 pounds. The past two weeks seem very slow, at 2 pounds each, but hey at least the scale is not going the other way! Heck I remember a time when I would GAIN 5 pounds over a holiday weekend!
It feels so great to be in control. I don't miss pigging out at picnics. I am so focused on what lies ahead in this wonderful journey. I wonder now how I ate so much food before...platefulls until I was stuffed. It still amazes me.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
Leslie
I am 9-1/2 weeks out and have lost 49# since my RNY on June 29 -- which may not be as much as some other people, but I am absolutely THRILLED with my weight loss. In fact, I think I prefer losing the weight a bit more slowly. Just to be losing weight consistently - however small the amount - is great because for so many years I was just constantly gaining, gaining, gaining. My recovery has been a bit difficult, but now that I'm eating solid food and feeling better I am really enjoying my weight loss. Being able to wear clothes that have been in my closet for years is SO wonderful! I do water workouts at the gym several times a week, and so far I have no flabby skin!
Hi, all. It is so great to see all these successes!
I am doing pretty well. I lost about 30 pounds prior to surgery and last week, on September 1, I went in for my three month checkup and I had lost 83 pounds since surgery for a total loss of 113 pounds. I am pretty darned happy about it!
Life is infinitely better. I am getting around better, breathing easier, exercising regularly, and best of all, looking forward to healthier and happier Autumn and holiday seasons this year with my husband, the love of my life (we are celebrating our third wedding anniversary 09/14/05, btw!). I am also looking forward to taking his step-kids to all kinds of Fall/holiday events that I wasn't able to, even just last year, because of my weight/health! It's so wonderful.
I also feel like I am better able to love my husband and step-children now that the weight is coming off. Instead of being preoccupied with aches, pains, health issues, etc., I can focus on being a better person in general, as well as to them.
I have about 185 or so left, but after starting out needing to lose around 300, 185 sounds do-able to me! I am averaging a loss of around six pounds per week and am hoping to hit a loss of 150 pounds on/about October 12, and a loss of 200 pounds on/about December 1 (yes, I keep a spreadsheet -- am I a geek or what).
Congratulations to all of us big losers!
