Hi Sandy, Yoiu are not average, you are exceptional!!! Don't ever let anyone tell you that! Also, I think its not the best thing to compare each others weight losses. We are all individuals working together to support each other. With those things in mind, I can tell you preop I lost 20 pounds and since my surgery June 14 I've lost 48, for a total of 68!!! What's more important than the weight loss is HOW GREAT WE FEEL! I hope you are feeling fantastic! Yours in pounds down, Jen

Hi Jen! Thank you so much for your kind words! You are so right.... It is important how we feel! I have noticed that I am feeling a lot better...especially since I have gotten in the pool to walk.... I do see a difference. even with just 21% lost! Congrats on all you have accomplished! Have a great weekend! Sandy

O.k., this completely depresses me. I am doing all the things I am supposed to do. I eat well over 60 grams of protein a day, drink well over 64 oz of water/diet liquids (no pop), exercise for 30 minutes EVERY day without fail, and I have only lost 37 lb. since surgery (52 total). We aren't supposed to compare but look what we are doing? I guess it feels really good when you are the biggest loser but trust me, it feels like SH** when you aren't. I am very happy for all of you but I have to say, I feel like a failure when I read this. Jo

Jo.... Please, please do not feel like a failure.... You are NOT a failure... FAR FROM IT!!!!!!!!!! You have done a great job at loosing... in less than 3 months! It was never my intention to make people feel bad.. I really wanted to get a feel for how others are doing... as I can only walk with crutches... so I do not walk very much at all!!! I try to exercise sitting or I am able to walk a bit in the pool.. Because of my limitations, I was wondering how I was doing. Keep up the great work!! Please accept my apologies...I am so sorry that my thread upset you... Your wls friend Sandy

Thank you Sandy, You are such a sweetie. I felt blue but not upset with ANYONE but me... I will get over it soon. I am typically an upbeat person. I probably shouldn't have posted as I really want this board to be positive, encouraging and supportive. It was selfish of me and I really am very happy for you!! It is me that should apologize because it is not supportive to be a whiner Your wls friend too!!! jO

No apology necessary! We are all here to support each other! I know for a fact that I would not be doing nearly as well if I did not have these message boards as my support!!! May I ask.. how much protein do you get in a day?? How many calories?? I had slowed down (almost stopped for 3 weeks) and then I added a protein drink a night right before I go to bed... and my weight loss has picked up again!!!! I really think it is the extra protein (well over 100 gms a day)... also the extra water.. 100oz! I started out bigger (394#) so I figure I need more of everything!! lol Good luck my friend... Don't be down... but if you are, we are all here to support you! Your friend Sandy
