I am 9 weeks post-op and here lately I feel hungry all the time. I am following my docs directions to the letter. I eat 3 oz. at each meal, three times per day. I get my 64oz. water daily. I dont know why I feel so hungry. Do any other 9 weekers have this problem?

I had my surgery the day before you. The only time I get hungry is when I don't eat every few hours like we are supposed to. For me it's around the 4 hour mark that I start to get that starving feeling. Are you snacking in between your 3 meals? Lisa

If I'm not busy at work, I'm hungry! Then when I do eat something, I often . Frothing is my enemy, even with the meds. The only way to avoid it is to limit myself to two ounces at a time, and eat five or six times a day. It doesn't help that I'm on Cipro right now for a UTI and can't have dairy most of the time! All of the water may be part of the problem, because it flushes everything out of the grouch. I start drinking about 1 1/2 hours after eating, until my next snack. My urologist had me cut back some on the water, too.

that is really funny that both of you feel hunger. I do not any longer. i have not since the surgery. Maybe Dr. Wood cut that nerve! (thank goodness) The other night I cooked supper but did notfeel like eating. The next morning I woke up and asked if my husband saw me eat supper, he did not. I actually forgot to eat. that was a first time for me. I have to remind myself to eat - the only time i crave something (but am not physically hungry ) is 3pm when everyone at work makes popcorn or pulls out the chips and are crunching them for me to hear.... Weird eh?

PEGGY i also experience hunger. BUT if i follow my doctor/nutrionists way of eating 3 meals and 3 snacks i do fine. I am looseing at an above average rate so i dont concern. FOR me i am eating far LESS and that helps with the looseing most. eating too little does put our bodies in starvation and the body will hold on to the fat so its good to eat! GOOD LUCK and maybe add some snacks to your day. MY snacks have been sf pudding, Carb countdown chocolate milk, melon, strawberries and peanuts. GOOD LUCK LISA 310/228/Onderland
