Not to whine, but still slow losses...
Hey Kelly Jo,
I too have the problem of still fitting into my clothes after almost 12 weeks. I am/was a size 32-34 when I started this adventure and now am into some 26 sizes if it is a dress but still keep the 32 bottoms as I have not lost alot from my gut area.
Isn;t it great to move to a smaller bra size though? (I was a 48H, now down to a 46H)
With regard to the weight problem , I have had weeks where my weight gain was strickly because I had a lot of salt, which retains the water, plus I was on meds (from that nasty cathader - bladder infection) and then my period came...talk about three strikes - I actually gained a pound that week.
When my period came this month, I did not gain but maintained my weight.
So calculate if your weight loss is around pms time - that could be your culprit.
Good luck!
Silly, down 88lbs
Yes, I was happy to move down one bra size. I have lost weight all over, but more on the top and bottom, for now. I don't have a period anymore, hysterectomy, but I still have my ovaries and believe as for the hormonal stuff I am on the same cycle as my daughter, which would be now. So that may be ti. Thanks!
Hi Kellie,
I've been doing the same thing as you - trying to figure everything out and finding "reasons" for what I have been thinking is a "slow" loss. However, the other night I sat down and went through my "numbers". The result was that although I have "only" lost 33 lbs in the past 8 weeks since surgery - my total for 6 months is 81 lbs lost forever - it really is an amazing thing. Then I went back and looked at my "first" body measurment log (April) and compared it to my 8 week post-op measurements - I was absolutely FLOORED that I had lost a total of 31.5 inches! I don't know how it compares to anyone else - but it sure helped me to feel ALOT better! I highly suggest keeping a measurement log - I do it once a week on the same day as my weigh in.
The other thing about sizes - I really think it all depends on your body shape. I have been blessed with an abundance of hips and butt! My point being that sometime it takes longer to actually move into another size - just the fact that your clothes are getting "roomy" and loose is so nice - I love sitting down and not getting cut in half! LOL
Anyway - enough rambling - you're doing great and you will keep going down. Don't get too bummed out - keep looking at all the good things going on around you.

I'm with everyone else I've only lost 31 lbs since surgery 2 months ago today. I'm going really slow it's frustrating I know..but i have dropped sizes. I was in a 22/24 and now i"m in a 16. Bra went from 40 D to a 38 C so I know i'm losing something but i have a coworker at work whom had surgery in February and she's lost 78 lbs. I haven't been a slave to the meauring tape or scale..it will come off eventually. Remember it took a while for us to get overweight it will take a while for it to come off.
I had a lull two weeks out, and then dropped some, and was off and on..but for over two weeks I have been living on protein and vitamins and liquids. Please do not take this as advice because this is what is working for me. Do I starve myself? No. I am just not hungry and I am lucky to eat one meal a day. I have upped my protein to 560-100 grams a day and my liquids and I am dropping at a steady pace. I feel great, am not sluggish or anything. I gave my recipe to get in plenty of proteins just twice a day before, and if anyone wants it again, please just let me know. But I was tired of the slow weightloss or no weightloss...now I am not losing it rapidly, but am losing it steady and slow and I am glad because too rapid and the skin cannot bounce back. I am down 65 lbs now....20 before surgery and 45 after surgery on June 14th. I might add, I have not been able to get out and walk because of the severe heat, I do some resistance and that's about it.
Hugs!
