too much food?
Pizza hut extra crispy thin crust pizza worked really well for me. The crust is so thin is is almost like a cracker. So it makes a nice platform to get in some protein and veggies and makes it seem a bit different. The thing i really appreciate about it? There is no greese at all.. you know the regular pizza hut pan is soaked in grease. This doesn't at all. I get the supreme cause it has veggies and meat and cheese. Figure it is a well rounded dinner. they also seem to cut the peices really narrow so you can eat a whole peice pretty much. One night i even had two peices. But like i said the crust is VERY THIN.. almost like a tortilla. So it doesn't waste much pouch space.
I had mine on June 14th too...I still restrict myself to 4 ounces which is 1/2 cup. and if you drink or whatever during the day, you can hold more later on in the day..so i'd be careful. I went through this whole process and I am not going to do anything to make it stretch...I am down 65lbs pre and post op and I feel great!!!! The only time I consume more than four ounces is when I eat my Stallone protein pudding which is 6 ounces...other than that, I am just careful.
Hugs!
I have just been allowed this week to add seafood, and boca burgers to my diet. I can eat a whole boca burger, but that is pushing it. I can eat about 3-4 oz of fi**** really depends on how hungry I am. However, the beginning of the week I could barely eat 2 oz. I try to do 85-95 grams of protein per day, which is really hard sometimes. I drink 3 protein shakes per day, cuz my work doesn't allow us but one break a day, and that is lunch. But lol, I took one bite of my daughter's jumbo shrimp and was full. I really think it just depends on how hungry one is. Take care.
I usually eat about 1/2 a cup. Depending on what it is, a little more or less.
I'm not really a breakfast person because I have a lot of mucus first thing in the morning, so I just have hot tea. Sometimes I eat two peanut butter crackers mid-morning.
For lunch:
- Leftovers if I have them and remember to bring them
- Carb Well Yogurt (4 oz)
- about 3/4 of Taco Bell pinto's & cheese
- salad bar: 4 cubes turkey, 4 cubes of cheese, 1 Tbsp cottage cheese,
and one strawberry
- Ruby Tuesday: Chicken w/cheese on it (I eat the size of about
two fingers and a couple of bites of brocolli) I take the rest home
for hubby and I for dinner.
- Chinese Buffet - Won Ton soup broth. Chicken & Brocolli. I eat 4-5
of the little pieces of chicken, a couple bites of brocolli and then drink
the soup later.
Dinner:
- Homemade taco meat, with cheese & salsa
- Chicken (about two fingers in size) a couple bites of veggies
- Slow cooked beef roast
- Meatballs (2) chopped up
- Salisbury Steak (about a third to a half of one)
- Maybe I will throw in a Tbsp of mashed taters....but rarely
- Crab cake (homemade)
- Shrimp - I think I usually eat 4-5 medium shrimp and a little veggie
- Salmon - again, about the size of two fingers and a couple bites
of veggie
I have tried the toppings off pizza, but it makes me feel gross. I tried a couple of bites (tiny ones) off a thin crust pizza...but it was so heavy on my pouch. I felt so unhealthy and slimy. I can handle about two bites of toast and some crackers....but soft bread is way to heavy for me. I can eat the soft part of popcorn, but not the hull.
My favorite trick for making juicy chicken is to cook it in the oven covered in canned tomatoes....like the basil, garlic & oregano tomatoes. YUMMY!

I also had my WLS on the 14th! My doctor doesn't like a lot of rules. He told me to eat if I'm hungry and stop before I get full. I take one supplement after each meal (multivitamins with breakfast, and a Caltrate D after lunch and dinner), so I know to leave room for them. The doctor's office explained that taking them on top of food allows it to be better absorbed since its progress is slowed by the food. Since I've started taking Reglin for my frothing, everything else seems to have settled down. Apparently, frothing was the cause of my nausea.
I eat, usually, two or three ounces for breakfast, 5 or 6 ounces for lunch, and two or three ounces for dinner. The shrimp and vegetables together sounds like an awful lot. Perhaps you are eating too quickly - do you get sick after eating that much? Or perhaps you are eating too long - it has time to pass on through so you can eat more? Are you drinking while you're eating - this is the hardest rule I have - it will wash the food on out of your pouch so that you can eat again much sooner. You should wait at least 30 - 40 minutes after eating before drinking anything. I admit I have to sip something while eating, but I've VERY aware of what I'm eating when I do.
As for pizza, it makes me happy. I also favor super thin crust so that I can enjoy the toppings. I haven't found much I can't eat if I cut it up carefully - and that really only applies to meats. My grouch doesn't like spicy sausage, but I had boudain last night with no problem. I also had a bit of cheesecake that was to die for, but perhaps I'm confessing too much. No problems, FYI. I have a shake once a day, but use double the protein mix so that it's really thick and creamy like a thin milk shake, and I get in a good 55 - 60 ounces and don't have to worry about it. (I love my magic bullet!) I couldn't keep down any protein supplement until the last couple of weeks, though. I love that my doc told me my body would let me know what I could and couldn't have, as long as I pay attention - because there isn't much I haven't tried. I am still afraid of lettuce. But I'm still losing, and just thrilled to be on this side of surgery.
Good luck with finding your own happy place!
