too much food?
I had my surgery on June 14th. I wanted to check with you all and see at nine weeks what amount are you able to eat at one meal before satisfied. I can now eat 10-12 medium shrimp and about 1/8 to 3/4 cup of soft vegtables with this. I am concerned that I may be eating too much. I eat three meals a day. I always have a protein drink for breakfast and this may cause me to take in more at lunch and dinner. I also have days when I eat more than others. How much are you all eating at one meal? Also, how soon did anyone try thin crust pizza? Thanks for your input! Sincerely, LMW
Hey,
I made shrimp last night and only had 1 jumbo shrimp with 2 bites of broccoli and i was really full. I have a problem at night with puking so I may not be the best to ask but for lunch I have about 3 pieces of deli ham with 1 piece of cheese and Im full. That does not make me sick. When I eat pizza I have a half of a half a piece and a small piece of the crust. You may be eating to much. My surgeons office said that we should not be eating more than a cup and a half of food in one sitting. They say if we are still hungry to walk away from the table.
I hope that helps.

Depends on what I eat. I had a taste for mac and cheese last night - I probably ate a whole cup of it!!! Tonight I went out to dinner and had one piece of shrimp and a few forks of angel hair pasta... then I was full. I just try to avoid being busy when I eat, and keep myself listening to my body. If I am still very hungry, I eat until I feel not hungry. If I feel like I am done - even after just a few bites, then I stop.

I find my intake can vary totally.
SOME meals i eat a 4 oucne serving
other times it seems like a little more.
I am looseing as best as can be so
i never worry to much.
SOME meals i think i eat near a cup.
I always follow the rules of my surgeon
and eat my protein first, then a veggie
and if i feel like it a rice or potatoe, usually
stop before that point. And i never drink
with a meal.
GOOD LUCK!

Wow....when I hear what and how much food everyone is eating it really suprises me!
I always start my day with a protein drink.....I can not tolerate the taste of hot cereals! I used to love them...go figure!
For lunch I usually have 3/4 slice of deli turkey and a piece of farmer's cheese.
For supper I eat maybe 1/2 a boneless chicken thigh and maybe 2 or 3 pieces of summer squash or other veggie.....or I eat a Boca burger....or turkey meatballs....only 1 1/2 will fit my pouch.
My grouchy pouch won't let me eat any type of pasta or bread! It doesn't like beef, pork, yellow cheeses, fish or eggs...so I am very limited in what I can eat. I do occasionally eat 1/2 of a lean cuisine for lunch. I love the garlic chicken with the spinach!
The program at UH says only 1/4 food for the first 3 months...then it is upped to 1/3 cup. At 6 months 1/2 cup and then 1 cup at a year and that is it for the rest of your life! That is protein, veggies, etc.
Yesterday I ate the deli turkey and piece of cheese...that is is all day! I was very bad about not eating but wasn't home and didn't have an opportunity to eat. I did get in 73 grams of protein though.....ended up getting diarrhea too!
I do leave sticky notes around to eat because I forget to! I use fitday.com to keep track of what I eat and how much protein I take in. I agree with what Lisa said...it is protein first and then if you want something else that is okay...but sometimes I have a very hard time getting in the protein with food....drinks are okay don't have a problem with them.
I do try to listen to the grouch...er pouch and before I feel full I quit eating.....usually takes me about 45 minutes to eat and after that I quit!

Just curious...How did you get in 73 grams of protein with only eating the deli turkey and piece of cheese all day?
I am having so much trouble getting in my protein. I'm supposed to eat 300 or so calories a day and you just can't get it in with those calories...or can you? Help if you can figure it out, please.
