For GIRLS' eyes only (sorry, guys)
Hi!
Since surgery, I feel as if I am having a neverending menstruation. I use the NuvaRing, and its like my body doesn't know its even there! I've had regular periods, but they are starting and lasting for like 2 1/2 to 3 weeks! It's a cycle on reverse! My OBGYN says it's prob. due to my body quickly losing weight and trying to regulate itself. I'm curious. Is anyone else having this problem? I hate it.
HI there!
My periods arent lasting that long but i have been getting like two periods a month. Before surgery I never had a period. I would get one like once a year but I also got pregnant. Strange I know.. But soon as my surgery was over my period came while i was in the hospital and i have had two a month since i had this surgery. It must be our bodies regulating them selves. I dont know why this is though.. Did you ever have probelms before your surgery?
Good LUck

Hi Bambi!
I've had the NuvaRing for about 3 years, I think? I love it. It has worked extremely well at regulating my periods. My doctor has also allowed me to replace immediately for 3 months and then only have 4 periods a year. That has worked miracles. I guess maybe my body is getting back at me for taking all of those periods away for so long.
I did have some spotting occassionally before surgery with the NuvaRing, but nothing worth noting.
When I went into surgery, I weighed 253 lbs. I now weigh about 215/216 and holding this past week. so.. 37 lbs?
Hope the Ring works for you, too!

HEY LADIES...irregular periods are very normal the first few months ....when we loose we our body is releasing estrogens and hormones and this does it. RELAX in a few months it will go back to normal. I used to belong on an ATKINS board and the same thing
happens when people rapidly loose on atkins.
PEOPLE who are irregular get regular
THE regular tend to get irregular.
ITS just temporary and i wouldnt concern!

YES, KATIE, I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING WITH THE NUVARING. I JUST FIGURED IT OUT YESTERDAY THAT IS HAS BEEN ABOUT 3 WEEKS FOR ME. I WAS GOING TO CALL MY OBGYN, BUT SINCE YOU POST, I KNOW THAT THIS IS NORMAL. AND YES, I HATE IT TOO. I RATHER BE LIKE I WAS WHEN I WAS PRE-OP. SPOT A FEW DAYS EACH MONTH AND THAT WAS IT...LOL
HANG IN THERE,
