Hi Lori, I just read your post and just wanted to encourage you on your weight loss. I had surgery on June 8, 2005. I lost it very quickly the first month, then only 2-3 lbs for the next 15 days! I was very discouraged but now it has started to drop off again very quickly. I am 9 1/2 wks. post-op and as of this morning I have lost 55 lbs! I think out body just goes into shock and has to catch up with itself. I keep thinking I am going to stop loosing weight all together. I think that's alot of peoples fear. So be encouraged, it will start dropping off quickly again. Hang in there. You are doing great. ~hugs~ Teresa RNY/June 8, 2005 350.4/295.0/Healthy

I can't explain the strawberries and nuts...it's something that worked for me on Atkins, and seems to be helping a bit now. I only went down about 6 lbs. between weeks 5 to 8, but have lost about four in the last week with these snacks. Like I said before, I think it has to do with giving your body the good carbs and fat so that it thinks the "starvation" period is over and cranks your metabolism back up. That's the most reasonable explaination my old Atkins buddies and I can come up with. I do know that at certain points with Atkins, I had to increase my caloric intake to get ketosis started again. I think this is the same basic principle and applies to us as much now. Just eat one as a snack. I have a 2 ounce bowl that I put my snacks in so I don't hurt myself. I eat them once or twice a day until I run out or get tired of them, but right now I'm really craving fruit anyway. I tend to get the mixed nuts without peanuts because the peanuts are higher in saturated fats. Don't try to use these as a meal replacement, though. We need way too many components in our diets. Hope this helps Kristie

KRISTINA...i too learned this in 2004 when i did atkins. ITS THE first rungs when you come off induction.....! I was loosing slow the last couple of weeks and adding berries, nuts and melon my loss this week soared to 6 lbs now. SO im a believer ( hey maybe i would have lost that anyway). I think alot is the body playing catch up! HANG in there everyone your pounds will start melting again LISA
