eating too much
I am 7 weeks out and I feel like I am eating too much. My weight loss has slowed to a stop for the last week and I am afraid to get back on the scale. I am able to eat most of a taco, meat and cheese only, or an eggroll or something like that. I just thought with my stomach being the size of an egg I shouldn't be able to eat all that. What is everyone else doing?
HI KALEY.....
3 weeks ago my weight loss had slowed down dramatically to about 2 -3 lbs now a week instead of the intial pound a day thing. SEEMS one i got the the 42 lbs gone mark (post op) it slowed down. I too sometimes feel
i can eat to much but the scale is moveing so im not really stressing on it any.
I am down 75 lbs if i add my pre op weight loss into the mix and its alot
i feel for this point. ITS funny but some meals i can only eat a little then others i feel i can eat too much. I too can eat an entire WRAP....usually
i have them with chicken salad at lunch....so i wouldnt stress you sound
normal to mee...

Hi. I am 9 weeks out and sometimes I do the same thing. I am able to drink an entire pint of egg drop soup, or eat an entire Lean Cuisine meal (minus the gravy or sauce). Maybe I'm eating too fast or something. I'm getting worried. I have stopped losing weight, and in fact, have put 4 pounds on. The doc says it's because I'm rehydrating and not to worry, that it's normal. I've been keeping a food diary for the past week and I'm bringing it in to him next Tuesday at my appt.
I am able to eat 2 tacos, meat and cheese only, too. So I understand. I have learned I have to jus****ch how much I am eating and not stuff myself.
I had advice from someone on the board about eating strawberries and nuts and that will put you back into ketosis and you will start to loose again. It is very true. I started eating the strawberries and nuts a couple of days ago. Yesterday morning I weighed myself and lost 3lbs and then again this morning another 3lbs! I am so excited. I hope I can continue the loss like this. This is a first for me.

Hi Kaley! I'm having the same experience -- some foods like soup and yogurt, I'm able to eat more of than other denser foods -- like meats, chicken, etc. -- I think I read food density had some bearing on it as well. I've lost 37 lbs in my 8 weeks post op and 13 pre-surgery for a total of 50 lbs but I've stayed the same for a couple of weeks now -- I'm not too worried about it because I know I'm losing inches daily! In fact, I plan to measure this weekend -- first time since my surgery! My girlfriend who is 2 and a half years post op says to measure anytime you reach a weight plateau. Laurel from KY
Be wary about your liquids. If you are eating and drinking at the same time the liquid will push all the food through your pouch. You will then be able to eat more and it may be deceiving what is actually staying in your pouch. I too used to think i could eat way too much until i stopped drinking when i ate. Just a thought.
