Do you worry about all the fat in them? I think it is an awful lot. Do we absorb all of the fat as well?

I do worry about all the fat in the nuts. I don't know if we absorb all of it though. But my surgeon says to keep fat intake under 25 grams per day, so I guess getting 15 of those 25 from nuts is bad. I don't know. Does anybody know about fat malabsorption?

I eat a peanut butter protein ball for snacks and have no problem. Here is the recipe. 1 cup smooth peanut butter 1 cup unflavored protein powder 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats -- not the instant kind 1/2 cup honey. There is a sugar free honey available if this is a problem. 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans 2-3 tablespoons cocoa powder Mix together and add enough water to bring to the consistancy of a thick cookie dough. Divide into one ounce portions (about one heaping teaspoon,) roll into balls or logs and store in closed container such as ziplock baggies in the refrigerator. Makes about 26 balls. Each one is about 5 grams protein. I do not have a problem with the fat or the sugar but nothing seems to bother me except popcorn and deep fried breaded shrimp. Enjoy, Rich
