Does anyone else find theirself really crabby lately? I have been like a mad woman lately. Just wondering if it is because of the stress that comes with the surgery. I feel like I am not doing as well as I should have by this point and everything is getting on my nerves. My BF is driving up the wall. He is starting to get really jealous and I hate that. I don't see any difference for him to be jealous. I am feeling like a failure because I have not been going to the gym like I was when I first had surgery and there isn't much excuse for it except I am really tired by the time I get home from work. I feel like I am eating a ton of food even though I track on fitday.com. I just don't know what is wrong with me. I don't feel depressed, just super crabby worse than PMS. I feel like I just need a few s to chill me out. I am having severe withdrawls from Pepsi. Thanks for letting me vent. Just feel little like a loon lately! Shelley

Shelley and Candy: Part of it may be due to the hormone imbalance that is going on. I heard about this as a side-effect AFTER I too started going bonkers. I'm 52 and on HRT, so my symptoms were crankiness, PLUS night sweats and continuous hot flashes. I felt like I had a space heater implanted in my body! My sister would joke with me and say, yeah, those marks on your stomach are from where the aliens abducted you and implanted stuff. Anyway, my doctor told me to increase my estrogen for a couple of months. He said this usually evens out by the 3 to 4 month mark. At least there's hope!!!

Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one! My BF has been driving me crazy, too! Nothing in particular really.......I just want him to shut up sometimes and I don't really know why! I have been a grouch, too! I have a friend who had WLS about 2 years ago and she went through the same thing but doesn't remember much about it now! I know what you mean about the exercise thing. I can't find the motivation! I was way too tired for a couple of weeks but now I have NO excuse! When I get home from work I am tired, too. I guess we just have to get off our butts and do it!

I definitley know what you mean, I have been the "Ice Queen"! I thought I was alone! I have been biting peoples heads off for no reason, and I get headaches frequently which does not help at all, so don't feel alone I guess this is part of it, I wish I would have known. My hubby is driving me crazy trying to push me to the gym, barking at me every night. I work long hours and by the time I do the family stuff at night I am tired. I wish you luck, hopefully it will go away soon.

HEY GUYS what your having is very normal with weight loss...as we shed the pounds.....we are releasing hormones and stuff messing with us. THERE is a supplement i heard that is awesesome EVENING PRIMROSE to balance those mood swings out. I used them when i lost weight with atkins for my moods got out of sync, and they really helped even with the PMS moods. I dont know if they will be effective for us post op as we absorb differently but i think im gonna go back on them they were so inexpensive at walmart. EVENTUALLY when are losses stabilize and our hormones get in balance we will feel like our old selves but happier with our new bods! GOOD LUCK LISA

I have felt tired since I have had this surgery and I haven't gone back to work yet! I definitely started noticing a difference in my attitude last week. I think the drop in serotonin levels (from reduced carb intake) has caught up with me. I have started taking St. John's Wort which has greatly improved my mood and to some extent, my energy level. I just had a check up with my PCP yesterday and reviewed my (insufficient) lab work. My iron was okay, but my protein was low which she suggested was making me tired. I've been trying to get in at least 60 grams of protein a day, but will try to increase it to 80.

Me too! I think my husband is trying to find a way to slip some viagra into my drinks! I'm sure I'm not getting enough protein or fluids, exercise i**** or miss - but I keep trying to get in at least 5 nights a week. I've got so much on my plate, and feel like I should be back at 100%, especially at work. I think I use all of my energy at work acting like I feel as good as I look, because everyone is commenting on it. Lots of women in my office. A REAL drink would be fabulous - the thought of another sip of water, protein shake, or flavored water makes me want to ! Think I'll go have some more strawberries!
