10 WEEK POST OP APPT
i had my appt this morning and i am officially down 42 lbs! the NP seemed to think that was good (i agree) since my excess body weight was 100 lbs to begin with. 42% of the way to reaching 100% of my goal!
anyways, i received my last "diet" today, the one i will go by for the rest of my life. i wanted to run right out and get a mushroom swiss burger with no bun, but i figured i have plenty of time for that! so for today, i stuck to my turkey breast. i told her how i feel like i have not been eating enough, and she did stress that it is very important for me to eat at least 3 meals a day and get in my protein. i will try...
plus, she did say that this "not hungry" feeling is going to go away, so i should enjoy it while i can. she said my goal should be to eventually get up to between 1200-1500 calories a day, but she said no way could i come close to that now, so not to worry. i'm lucky to get 300-400!
not a bad visit by any means! now i don't go bac****il december. sure, give me a new list with all these foods on it that i can eat and throw me to the wolves! i feel like i will be so alone these next 4 months!

Mary Jo, you dont have to feel alone, we will all be here to encourage and support you. I cant wait to be able to have rice and pasta, I know I wont be able to eat much, but at least get to have the taste and texture of new things. I am pretty much eating meat and cheese with some veggies. I also eat some strawberries now and then. Soon I will try new fruits too. Keep up the good work, I cant wait till I am almost half way to my goal..
thanks carla, i need the support. honestly, this is the place i always come to when i need it too. i struck gold when i found this site!
yeah feels weird, i am afraid to go anywhere near those white carbs. they said i can have pasta, rice, bread...all that yummy stuff. but tonight at football practice i bought a slice of pizza, took one bite and felt guilty. so i just ate the cheese off the top instead!
just wait, before you know it you will be "allowed" to eat anything...and then you won't want it!
hugs~mary jo
That's so awesome...42lbs in 10 weeks. The last time I lost 42 lbs was in college on Phen Phen. Thank goodness that drug is off the market and we are actually learning to eat healthy. I totally understand the guilt. Last night I had a piece of a brownie and felt so quilty but I just needed a taste. Call me crazy but I lost 2 lbs overnight...must have been the guilt eating me up inside. LOL
Keep up the great work,
Crystal

So glad to hear you and the doctor feel your losses are great. I think your doing wonderful. As the others said you know the site is here those next few months so dont feel alone thats why we are all here for the extra support we need.
I see my doctor on AUG 25th, he will check my blood work at that time. DID they check your blood work to make sure your not deificient in the common areas after the surgery?
RIGHT now my losses are at 49 since surgery and ( 74 lbs in all w/ my pre op weight loss. I do think you need to make certain your getting in that protein our bodies need that so much. And i dont want to see you have major hair loss when that stage kicks in. I always get that protein in cause ill freak if i loose major amounts of hair.
GLAD your doing well. KEEP POSTING we miss you.
