Anyone w/ an awesome success story?
Okay, we are all successful if you really look at the amount of weight we lost in the amount of time we have lost it, but most of us are stalling now or having slow weight loss. Is there anyone who has not experienced this and has just plummeted thru the weight? Maybe you were to shy to say. Just wondering, and if so, what are you doing?
I don't know if this is an "awesome" success story but I was 358.6 the morning of my lap band surgery on June 10th and today I weighed in at 297. I cracked 300 on my birthday August 2nd. I've been doing 30-40 minutes a night on the LifeCycle at Level 5. Before that I didn't exercise for 5 years. My initial consultation on May 19th I weighed 364. I'm thrilled with my decision and feel great. I've gone from a 54 waist to a 48 waist. All in almost 2 months from the surgery. My doctor said that I'm above the lap band curve and even ahead of the gastric by-pass curve and that made me feel great. I now believe that I can achieve my goal when before my first meeting with my doctor I had very little hope and little confidence that I could ever lose the amount of weight I needed to lose. I can eat anything I ate before only alot less. I have cut out all bread, pizza, ice cream, cookies, cake except for a little nibble once every blue moon. Simply amazing. I kept a journal on my profile page and need to start updating again. Best of luck to you and all of our fellow Juners!!
Ed, , you have done an awesome job and should be so proud of yourself. I am so glad that this has renewed your hope and that you are so positive. Congrats on getting under 300 on your birthday! I am an August baby too, Aug. 19th. You will definitely achieve your goal. I will have to check out your profile. Continues success to you!
Hey Kelli!
This may not be an "Awesome" story to others, but it sure does make me feel better when I look at it on paper and in the mirror. I am 5 weeks and 5 days out and I have lost 46.5 lbs. I have lost 7 inches from my waist and 8 inches from my hips already, not counting the other places I have lost. I have even lost an inch and a half from each wrist and I didn't start measuring until 5 days after my surgery. I think I would have done better but mother nature had to step in today and I always add on pounds when she comes near.
Because of an injury to my neck/shoulder while I was in the operating room, I haven't been able to exercise yet. I am hoping that I can soon and that I can hopefully get cleared to go back to work soon. I only get my exercise from going back and forth to the doctor's offices right now.
What do I do? I push the protein and try to drink as much as I can. I have not had more than 30 oz of liquid yet, but I am still working on it. I finally got my protein where it needs to be.
Good luck to every one out there! Just remember to say "This is MY day and I will decide how I will eat."

Hi There:
I feel that we should all look at each other as success stories because we did what we did!! Ya know what I mean?
For myself, I had surgery June 10, 2005 and as of yesterday, I have lost 50 pounds.....Needless to say I am ecstatic...I have gone from a size 22 to a 16 in two months.....The positive attention I am getting simply cracks me up....I start to laugh and blush and probably look like a fool..but the truth is that I love it and I am so happy!!
Good luck to you!!!!
