Hi everyone, Had my endoscopy today. First let me say they gave me good drugs, and although I was fairly aware of what was going on, I was very comfortable. It was a stricture. They dilated me, and because it was pretty severe they are going to repeat the procedure in two weeks. The GI doc that did it told me to stay on liquids for another two weeks, ugh! But I will do whatever they tell me. I am going to up my protein though, as I have been feeling really tired out the last few days. Thanks for your kind emails of support. Deb

Wow, it is so good you shared this with all of this so we know what to look out for too. I am so sorry you have to do liquids again but wow, at least you know what it is, how it feels and what to do next. Good Luck and keep up posted Jo

Its good they figured out your problem and I am glad it wasnt so bad for you when they did the endoscopy. I had one before, but I dont remember a thing, I had it the same day I had a colonoscopy so I was drugged good. I know it stinks to have liquids again, but in no time you will feel good again and be able to eat normal foods.. Take care..

Sorry to hear you have to go back to liquids... but look at the bright side, you are bound to lose extra weight form liquids again.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and your prayers. I'm doing better and will find out today when my next one is scheduled for. When I saw the NP at my surgeon's office yesterday she said it will probably take three dilations then I should be fine. Thanks again everyone. Love, Deb

Hey Deb! It's Sharon! I was in the hospital last week---what happened to you? I don't know how to locate your original message on this thing. Let me know what your symptoms were. Now I'll tell you what happened to me!! Started being unable to get anything down, even water, for 2 days. Also gnawing ache in solarplexis and drainage site. Finally last Sunday night I was up all night with pain and constant belching. Tried to take 2 sips of water early Monday morning and it burned badly. Called the doc, he put me in. Diagnosis: Gastric ulcer at the anastomosis and gallstones. The ulcer is pretty bad. He said if I had waited it could have broken down the entire connection, which would have been life threatening. Now am on 2 different meds 4 times a day and off work 2 more weeks. I will post this on main for others to see. Glad you're doing better sweetie.

Deb, in my current post of 8/8 I asked you what happened to your Pearl; I found your explanation in the old posts. No need to reply. Boy, the 2 of us really are neck in neck in terms of starting weights, medical problems, etc. We don't have exactly the same stuff, but similar, and both of us have now had complications. It sure helps to read another's symptoms of problems, so that it gives the rest of us a head's up. Looking forward to talking with you again. Let's try to heal normally from here on out!
