Eating Out Tip

This is something that has saved me! I am almost 6 weeks out and just starting to eat out. My first meal out I overate because the food was sitting in front of me and I just kept picking and ended up feeling too full. So, now when they bring my meal, I ask for a to go box, I cut what I am know I can/should eat, and put the rest in the to go box. This way I am not tempted to pick and overeat. I first heard about this during my many trials at Weigh****chers, but finally put it into practice after my surgery! It helps you to see how much you are NOT eating rather than how much you are!

Great Idea! Wish I had known about it today because I went out for lunch with the girls and ordered a meat patty and green beans. Should have put most of the meal away even though I did not eat much it was to....much for me. I ended up in the ladies room and most of it came back up. Oh well live and learn. I will remember your suggestion next time. Laural

My Dr. gave me a little card to give to the waitress/waiters to let them know that I have had surgery and to let me order smaller portions of food or off the childrens menu. I was in Dallas last week and they did let me order the child portions and it was also half the price. So try that when you go out. I couldn't even eat what they gave me as a child size but it was better than ordering a whole meal that I couldn't take home as I didn't have a place to keep it. Sandy

My doctor gave me that card as well! You are so right, I have 5 to go containers in my refrigerator. I order child or appetizer every time and eat on each meal atleast 4 times! It's amazing!
