Plateau anyone?
Well... I had my surgery June 20th and I've noticed in the past 2 1/2 weeks I've been slowing down in my weight loss. It's pretty frustrating, but I know it's still good progress. I just didn't know it would slow this quickly. I heard of the forbidden one month plateau... many people hit it at 4 to 6 weeks out. I hope that's what I'm experiencing. I'm getting in all my water, protein, supplements and 3 meals per day, (few forkfuls of any protein and fruit/veg I can).
I've also been upping my cardio/weights to 4 times per week. I thought that it would help, but maybe I'm losing inches instead of pounds? I've lost 28 pounds so far in six weeks. Anyone else experiencing this? I guess I just have to be patient, but it's so scary and frustrating.
YES! I am on a weight loss stall right now!!! I am doing all the right things, I am even exercising, but I haven't lost in almost 2 1/2 weeks now!!!!!
I had surgery on June 21st and I was 240, now I am 212. I too have lost 28 lbs. 35 lbs if you count the liquid diet for a week before surgery.
I am at the weight that I have been at whenever I have failed on all my previous diets, so I feel such anguish about this. I hope it picks up soon. Although I did lose an inch off my waist this week. Weird.
I am in week 8 now so i hope that it breaks for me. MY slow down in weight loss began around week 6.....i am looseing just slower now. I am telling myself im looseing inches and its my body adjusting to the major weight loss i have already acheived now.
HANG IN THEIR GUYS!
YOUR NOT alone seems we all are hitting this slo down so
its normal!
We will reach our goals
I bet we are also gaining muscle which weighs more
then fat too!

Three weeks out my weight loss had slowed down to 1-2 pounds per week. As much as I like to see the scale move I am very happy with other things happening since then. I have lost lots of inches without losing much weight and I think that I have been exchanging fat for muscle. My blood glucose readings have gone down to normal with no medications. My blood pressure is normal without meds and my resting pulse rate has dropped about ten beats per minute. A friend who has had the RNY said the same slowdown happened to him then suddenly the weight loss resumed. He has lost 146 pounds in 10 monnths.
Best wishes,
Rich
Add me to this also. I have not lost a lb in the past two weeks. But i have noticed that I am retaining alot of water. I guess staying the same is better then gaining. But i have lost 40lbs and 30 inches in the past 8 weeks so I guess I am doing something right. I dont weigh in alot so today was the first time i weighed in and found out i was on a platue. So what did i do when i got home but put in the 2 mile walk away the pounds video and did that....and im going to buy a little notebook tomorrow so i can start food journeling and put my excersize in there also. Im gonna kick this up a notch is my plan...

We are surgery twins! I'm so glad to hear from you all because I haven't been really happy with only 30 lbs in 6 weeks, but now I feel better knowing that I'm not alone. I stalled at about 3 -4 weeks when I hit a former "set-point", but I have been slowly losing since then. I also started kicking up the walking this week and that has got to help.
It was so wonderful the first 12 days when I lost a pound a day, lol. But I know it is unrealistic to expect that to continue, darn it!
Last year I lost 30 lbs and then gained 30 back before surgery so now I weigh the same as last summer (275). BUT, this time I know I won't gain it back yet again! Yippee! I am happy because of that!
