I have felt so good since my surgery, but the last 4 days I cant say the same. I have been so dizzy and light headed, tired and just plain icky feeling. I called the nurse at the surgeons office and she said I am definately not getting enough fluid and wants me to see my regular dr today. She also said being as I still am on blood pressure meds that maybe my blood pressure has now gone too low so I need to check that out too. I see the surgeon on Friday for a five week checkup, but she doesnt want me to wait till then. He is 3 hours away from me.So I am going to my regular dr today.Hopefully its nothing and I am going to make sure I drink, drink drink. Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

SO glad your going to your doctor!!!!! There are alot things that can cause the dizziness but seeing a doctor is the best start. I can say when i did atkins last JAN i would get dizzy if i bent down to the ground then stood up to fast. I hated it. I think it was to lo carbs and lo blood sugar causeing it. SO far with my weight loss surgery i havent experienced it yet, i do get in all the required fluids and my proteins. GOOD LUCK and do let us know how things go at the doctor please! LISA

Carla I had to same problem when I came home from the hospital. When I contacted my doctor he also said I was not getting enough fluids. I did notice that if I get 60-64 oz of fluids in each day I do not get dizzy. It also helps with the BM being looser, lol. Hope this helps. Laural

I agree that it is a really good idea to go to the doctor. You will be happy you did. One week out of surgery, I got dizzy and sweaty and ended up back in the hospital with a GI bleed. Not likely at all what is happening to you since you are not so close to your surgery date as I was but there are lots of reasons to be feeling different and it is good to find out why. Good luck! Jo

Carla, I get dizzy if I forget to eat or don't drink my water. BUT if you are still on blood pressure medication, it is IMPERITIVE that you get checked out as soon as you can. My sister was on BP medication pre-op and immediately post-op but it wasn't long before she didn't need that medication anymore. She started feeling just like you described. I was with her once when her blood pressure got dangerously low...she could barely keep her eyes open or have a conversation. The hospital had to give her something to RAISE her blood pressure (just while she was there). Extremely low blood pressure can cause you to go into hypovolemic shock (not sure if I spelled that right), which can be deadly. I don't mean to scare the **** out of you....but do want you to get checked. I hope everything is okay and you feel much better soon. ((hugs)) Pam

I want to thank you all for your thoughts and concern. I did go to my dr today and he determined it wasnt the blood pressure. That was fine and he checked it five times. He had me laydown, stand, sit, get up quick and it was basically the same every time. I did have to get some labs done because he said I may be dehydrated. I have to call back in the morning for the results and to check if he wants to have me get some iv fluids in before I leave for my trip to the surgeon. I hope I dont have too do that. Being as I go to see the surgeon Friday, I am hoping he can just figure out whats going on. Maybe I just had a bug of some sort too. I hope thats all it was.. Thanks again and I will let you know what I find out..

Whew, I'm glad you are okay! Drink Drink Drink! We just had an unpleasant virus go through our house too (probaby the reason for my weight loss this week...but I'll take it!). This may be a good time to buy stock in TP. Seems like it is going around all over the place. I had it all day yesterday and half the day before. It was like 3:00 today that I got up and almost passed right out...then I realized that I had only drank about 10 oz of water all day, so I've been sipping ever since! Hope you don't have to go in for that IV either! Feel better... ((hugs)) Pam
