Hi Peggy! It sounds like you are doing great. Congratulations on your weight loss. Gosh, that averages out to almost a pound a day!! I eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup meals 3x a day plus 2 snacks. I drink my protein shakes at snack times. You didn't mention protein. Are you getting enough? I am supposed to get 70 grams daily between food and supplements. I too experience hunger. I am not always sure if it is "head hunger" or the real thing. It sure feels real!! I am to get in as close to 2 quarts of fluids per day as possible also. I feel like I am a slow loser and get overly obsessed with the scale so I chose not to weigh until I go to my next appt. 9/1. I figure if I follow my doctors instructions, the weight WILL come off. I have a lot to lose!! I can always call my doctor with any questions or concerns as they arise. No question is stupid. You sound like you are doing great to me but to really ease your mind, why don't you check in with your Dr.? Continued good luck to you. Diane
Peggy,
It sounds to me like you are doing GREAT! My doc sent me home with instructions to eat 2 oz (or 4 Tablespoons, or 1/4 cup) at each meal. From what I have read, it looks like we are right on track if we are eating 1/4 to 1/2 cup. Just a little advice: try not to eat until you are stuffed. For me, my cues that I'm getting full are: Hiccups, burps, runny nose, feeling like I have food in my throat (this one means I ate too much!). So if I get any of those signs, I stop.
One thing that has helped me is adding protein shakes or snacks. It is hard for me to go more than 5 hours without SOMETHING. That has stopped me from getting hunger pains between meals, feeling light headed or weak. Like I eat 1/2 yogurt for breakfast, half a power crunch bar for a snack, eat lunch, eat the other half of the power crunch bar for a snack, eat dinner and if I'm really good, add a protein shake in the evening. When I do this, I'm not hungry at all and I have lots of energy throughout the day.
I think you are right on target.
You are walking
You are eating small meals (2-3 oz)
You are drinking your water
You are losing nearly a pound a day!!!!
Keep on doing what you are doing girl!!!
((Hugs))
