Hi Lisa, ME TOO TODAY! Mine was at breakfast. My nutritionist said I could add a half slice of well toasted bread with my egg beaters. I cut the half slice into 10 small pieces and put my egg beaters on it. After the first three bites my chest hurt so bad. I tried for an hour to get what I thought was gas out of the way. Well, it didn't get better so I helped it, if you know what I mean. I felt so much better afterward. I think it was the bread that just got stuck. I chewed and chewed but apparently not enough. Well, I think I'll pass on the egg beaters and toast for a while. Glad you are feeling better. Deb

well, YUCK! so sorry to hear of your experience tonight. might of been a combination of not chewing well enough and the meat. i have heard from so many people about steak being hard to digest, even from my doc. i also know two people, one about 7 years out and another about 3 years out...neither one of them can eat steak to this day. i hope i will be able to eventually, i love a nice medium rare steak every now and then! hope, this doesn't happen to you again any time soon! hugs~mary jo

I have had the steak at least 4 times since surgury and was fine so im really thinking i was so hungry at dinner that i didnt chew my food good, the broccoli mainly. WHEN i eat my steak i eat little bird bites and do fine .....But time will tell. if its the steak i will accept that too LOVE LISA

Hi! I've been noticing that I have needed to purge my body of "stuck" food about once per week. 3 out of the 4 times was from eating poultry- turkey or chicken. The way it is prepared and the size hasn't mattered, I eat a piece the size of a pencil eraser each bite. oh well! The fourth time was with toast, but I think I ate that too fast. I guess we're all learning. Here's a question, after you purge, do you try to re-eat to get the meal in or are you just skipping it? I'm finding I just skip it and switch to water after 30 min. to calm my tummy down.

I have noticed when having dinner with others is when i tend to not chew like i should. We get talking and i forget my good chewing habits. All it takes is one. Eating too fast or things that are too dry will do it to me as well. But it is the dinner conversation that makes me fall back into old habits that i really have to watch.
